I'm have looked into Zilean's profile and come to the realization that his probably the top 20 most broken character in this wiki, time to fight broken with broken.

-Old Wizard vs Old Wizard

-Speed is equalized

-both have information about each other and 20 days of prep time

-battle takes place in ancient shaolin temple

Zilean
Elminster 2

It can be that. It can undo choices or allow the person to retry the same action again as if it was the first time. But it can also just be reality warping with summoning effects and the ability to create things out of thin air.

And Elminster resists everything on this man's profile to a pretty wide degree. Elminster opens Gate, asks Mystra for help, Mystra says "aight homes one sec".

I dont see a resistance to time manip, let alone time manip as ridiculously potent as Zileans, anywhere on Elminster's profile

Zilean by existing prevents him from opening the gate

Standard D&D resistances cover time manip scaling from Temporal Stasis, et al. I can provide the proof with a ten second internet search, the only reason it isn't on the page is because of the breadth of the resistances allowed by D&D (which resists everything under the sun, I assure you). So you have two options I guess.

1. Accept that, as everyone does, because it's just what D&D does and we've been using it forever since the project to compile it all requires reading hundreds of books and such

2. I can close this til the neverending revisions... well, end. And then reopen it.

More like it's waiting to get the information on it due to the amount of information likely being several times larger than the page. If you don't want to do the match anymore because of the resistance I'll close this.

Goodbye match.
