Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

I have been recently translating some documents from English to Spanish, and I am surprised at how useful Google Translate is now. Like, most of the time I don't even have to put an input into the machine translations since they translate everything perfectly. The only issue is that it tends to translate female words to male words and in Spanish, words are either female or male. Unless I put an indicator in a sentence that shows that the person being referred to, is a female, the machine gets confused and assumes the person is a male.

But what's weird is that sometimes it offers you a sentence with male words, and other times it offers you a sentence with male words and female words. It is very inconsistent too, I wish we always had a choice to sound feminine or to sound masculine.

Did the Google Translate machine get improved with AI or something? Like, it can translate stories so well, I am impressed by how good it works now.

I remember that as a kid, like 10 years ago, this machine was shit, pretty shit, if you used it to speak to gringos as a latino, they wouldn't understand you. Now, gringos still don't, but at least I say the words correctly.

Dexter's Lab might be my least favorite "good" show
Dexter suffers so much, so unjustly.
Also, a frustrating aspect of OG PPG, especially later on, is how often their superpowers are just neglected. Usually for a plot, so I guess there's a reason, but some of the stuff is just frustrating, & sometimes, not even because of superpower-related things.

Why's that?
Outside of Dexter, Dee Dee, and Dexter's mom (for reasons that literally have nothing to do with the show), and a few memorable jokes that make me laugh, there's nothing really memorable about the show that makes it stand out. It's just another good cartoon.

It's one of the weaker shows of CN's "classic" era

That, as well as the fact that the show had a massive dip in quality in its later seasons.

American dad is so good I don't understand why it's so hated on and underappreciated
It's crazy funny sometimes. I think that and Futurama are really the only adult animated shows I genuinely enjoy watching.
Though The Simpsons can be funny, but I just don't watch it that much.

Old insults are crazy. I need to read more books n shit.
Like, if someone told me "your best part ran down your father's leg" I'd be done right then and there.
As someone who reads old-ass books because I read old-ass books, crazy how true this is. Everyone was an anime villain.

Sometimes when I'm the only staff member online I get scared.

Society would improve heavily if everyone trashtalked like Muhammad Ali again.

Anyone play Marvel Rivals yet? I haven't played yet but it kind of intrigues me. Looks pretty fun

I'm guessing that's because English doesn't use commonly use suffixes to denote gender like in Spanish (whether the word finishes in an O or an A, for example, Barco is a male word, but Ship is female in English IIRC, while Barca is female in Spanish as well, but is a different thing) and in Spanish when gender is not specified, it's just assumed to be male at first. Just a guess, though.

Automatic translators have improved a frigton in the last few years. You can actually get decent translations from even languages radically different from English, like Japanese or Russian.

Only complaints I've seen is role locking, but that should be for competitive modes only. But I'm having fun playing Spider-Man, and the game is doing well on Steam and on Twitch

Yeah I heard Spider-Man was fun, haven't heard much else about the gameplay though, I mostly saw posts about how thick Squirrel Girl is on Twitter (she really is stacked like a fcking Jenga tower though I won't lie), in fact that's how I even found out about the game lol

I found out about it because sha

Wait, english ships are female? So azur lane and kantai collection were right all along...

Yeah, i didn't realize up until now

Like now it can even recognize when a word is a name and shouldn't be translated because it starts capitalized in the middle of a sentence

Legitimately how did Overwatch go from having the best designs ever to whatever the **** this is WHO wants to play this guy 😭
