Dark Sonic vs Tainted Reimu
I originally just wanted to do a sketch shitpost, but I do not know how to do sketches, so this drawing actually took me like 8 hours to draw. I think I started at like 3 pm and finished it at like 4 am. I had a day off work yesterday so I just thought about doing a quick drawing, but I am very slow so for even something I spent less effort on, it still costed me a lot of time. I envy fast artists, I really do, I want to know the secret to how they do what they do. It would be very helpful.
Now, as for this drawing, I thought I would make a quick sketch of something other than the Remilia drawing that I still haven't finished (But quick it wasn't), so I went with the first thing I thought of. I saw a friend talk on Discord talk about Reimu's new form, so I read the CDS chapters that I missed (I planned to drop the manga) and then I decided to draw this as a joke because "Haha, dark forms, get it?" so yeah, that's why I am here. Am I such a shonenbrained simpleton that a mere transformation is enough to attract me back to a story? Like jingling keys in front of a kid?
Eh, I wouldn't pay too much attention to that. Anyway, you see, Sonic is one of my favorite characters of all time, he is cool and he is a role model. And he is fast. He is the best speedster ever. So cool and blue... As a kid I saw him as a mentor and I even had him as my imaginary friend that would lecture me. But I stopped doing that once he started lecturing me too much about my awful life choices, so I just stopped imagining him like that and poof, the rat is gone like a candle! His dark form is cool too, completely carried by fan art because he has less than a minute of screen time. Either way, I like Sonic a lot, I still do.
You know, I was kind of worried when I drew Sonic better than I expected. I actually never drew Sonic ever before. Not even as a kid, I only drew Angry Birds. I didn't even draw Mario because I drew him ugly as a kid. Angry Birds and Minecraft because they're simple. I was a Sonic fan back then too, so I don't know why I didn't draw him either. Eh, forget it. But yeah, this is my first time drawing Sonic. Is it decent because he is simple? Characters made for kids tend to have simple designs, this is so that children can draw them with more ease. It can be that. Though, there is also a more disturbing possibility... That drawing Sonic activated a sleeper agent gene deep inside of me. Or, well, that Sonic is a sleeper agent activation phrase to make me draw more Sonic. That is the only two possibilities I see, nothing else. I mean, maybe I should draw Sonic, you know? He seems simple enough for me to draw him quickly with less effort. He seems easy to learn. Maybe this is my fate, I am destined to draw Sonic. Decades led to this. I will consider this possibility, it doesn't seem bad, but I am not too invested into Sonic. I haven't played a lot of his games, I mostly watched the TV shows.
What better date to draw a fight between Reimu's new dark form fighting against Dark Sonic than at the time when her new form has little screen time? Kehkehekhheh. I personally find it funny, I don't know if you would.
As for Reimu, I like her, she is cool, though I admit I like the secondary characters more. There is something about Reimu that I can't remember or predict, I kinda like characters that I can get an insight of, I want to know their thoughts and predict their actions, but I struggle to do the same to Reimu. Her thoughts are an enigma to me, even when I try to visualize Reimu, I fail, I can only visualize her fanon counterpart. I don't know why is it so hard for me to do that. Maybe I should study her more. I must say that I like her hair accessories, I am definitely considering implementing aspects of her character to my original character designs since I really like Reimu's design. So simple yet so detailled... ZUN was a genius for drawing Reimu... Her hair accessories in particular are pretty cool, they're a nice way to add more depth to her hair. I should implement more hair ribbons and those hair cylinders in her hair to more designs.
I am running out of things to talk about. I ate breakfast.
