Darkshine lost all of his hair in exchange for his strength, but he could not reach Saitama's level despite having trained much harder than him.

So anyway, should I consult Qawsed to translate the databook? I doubt we'll truly get Tier 4 but we have the chance of getting tier 5. Or is anyone here knowledgeable on Japanese?

Rereading the chapter, I actually do like this intro for ENW. The key monster was great, could we make a profile for him? The sheer size of ENW, the death of the key monster, the way ENW forces the door open, how ENW slaughters Tongara- the way ENW keeps chasing them. Nvm he's still pretty scary and impressive.

Also, few things. Bushidrill gets a neat little 8-C feat when he collapses that huge hallway (several stories tall). Tongara killed one of those giant monsters, presumably a tiger, with one kick. Gearsper managed to effectively use C class level TK without having to get torn open by Nyan. Mizuki did get a pretty impressive TK feat, it seems like it could be class 10-50 with a concrete pillar of that size. Saitama's punch caused the equivalent of a stronger magnitude 5/ weaker magnitude 6 earthquake. If he knocked that's pillar down, it's def a magnitude 6. IDK how much the hollowness nerfs it, but causing magnitude 5-6 earthquakes 1-2km above you while underground is higher end nuclear stuff irl.
saitama is way more than 1-2km deep. he fought orochi and rover between gyrogryo and psykos , psykos was in one o the deepest parts of the MA. saitama's probably between 7-9 km down at this point

Matt retired? Oof

(Im probably late on realizing lol)

Wish I found this translation forever ago

Relevant sentence being in the bottom left corner (they use a weird-ass font though so you'll have to really look closely if you want to recognize the kanjis).
  • 地球を削る絶望の咆哮!!
  • Chikyuu wo kezuru zetsubou no houkou !!
  • The roar of despair that scorches the Earth !

The most important word here being 削る/kezuru which we're given the furigana of just above けず/kezu so there's no mistake.
A japanese website that translates their words to english has it as shave too here

Point where, because the closest to what you said in that square is:
  • ..., それは地球を破滅させる消魂の一撃だった
  • ..., sore ha chikyuu wo hametsu saseru shoukon no ichigeki datta.
  • ..., this was the attack in blind rage that would have ruined the Earth.

The whole paragraph is basically a short description of the event, saying that Boros was being pushed in a corner and "forgetting about himself" he used this attack to end everything (which kind of implies he wouldn't have been able to tank the resulting damage himself), hametsu/破滅 is used here which means "ruin/lay waste to", this term goes along just fine with the previous one.

I see nothing about outright planet busting in here.
On the side we can read:
  • 星を揺るがす極限バトル.
  • The extreme battle that shakes the "星".

Considering the Earth is directly referred to in the accompanying description it's safe to say here that it means planet as well, considering Earth is obviously not a Star.

Oof, so 5-B I guess. But don't the other statements have some sorta 5-B statements there?

Anime Boros has three 5-B statements
  • Statement in the anime
  • Statement in the Blu-Ray book
  • The Blu-Ray book saying his latent energy van destroy a planet

Dunno where the High 6-B comes from, but yeah.

Unless you mean upgrading Boros to High 6-B for shaking the Earth, but that may be a bit suspect.

No, it came from the anime version of the meteor. The calc was approved, but was never used due it being an anime thing afaik

Boris upscales from the meteor like his manga counterpart.

So which options do you prefer of the 2?

Shaking the Earth is for the manga version. Meteor is fine for Boros upscaling I guess, at least in his MB form is nothing else.

But do you approve of possibly 5-B or straight up 5-B?

I doubt Boris even shakes the earth because his battle wasn't even on the planet technically

But it is said that it is its latent energy plus its physical strength, CSRC scales much higher, so Kanji refers to the star and not the planet.

But it is said that it is its latent energy plus its physical strength
There's no plus there. It said he possessed above average strength even for his species along with latent energy that can destroy a planet. They aren't connected, in fact the book separates the two stats.

I think using the general "destroy the earth" statement from the Guidebook to straight up upgrade Boros to 5-B is pretty ridiculous. In the actual manga which is more valid as a source of information than the guidebook, Boros states that his attack can only destroy the surface.

This is anime boros, not manga boros, we're planning to make anime profiles for Saitama and boros, as well as webcomic ones. The databook that implies 5-B is for the anime afaik

In the anime Boros outright says his final attack will destroy the entire planet. He's 5-B with the CSRC regardless of the Blu-Ray book.

There is, but even so, that would be for his previous form and his bursts of energy (the one he used with Saitama), honestly, it doesn't make sense to be the same thing, being that Boros' trump card uses everything and in that way, he did not use all power.

Latent energy refers to his energy pool. Meteoric Burst doesn't increase this energy pool, it just allows him to use his energy to boost his physical stats beyond his normal limits.

His latent energy being able to destroy a planet and the CSRC being able to destroy a planet are complementary statements. They're referring to the same thing; his total energy if fired can blow up planets.
