Ragnarök-RP Thread

"I don't particularly care," Belial said, the color in his eyes dimming. "The Celestial kid is my friend Shalor. He isn't here right now."

“Does this Shalor boy mean something to him, unlike his other friends?” Lance thought to himself, seeing Belial eyes dim. He gave Lance free reign to kill anyone of his friends, yet this Shalor boy seemed special.

“…I’m sorry to hear that,” Lance said sympathetically.

“Parting makes up too much of our life, I'm afraid. I do hope your friend Shalor returns soon" He said.

"Whatever," Belial said, dismissing Lance's empathy. Belial turned around, preparing to walk away. "Before I go..." Belial turned back to Lance, "I'm actually way older than everybody here combined, so don't get it twisted. I take the form of a child because it's comfortable." Belial said before walking away.

Metatron removed his clothes to reveal a slender but also lightly muscular frame, letting his hair hang down as he dipped into the large bath that he had created. "Qliphoth, huh...?" Metatron thought to himself, sighing. "That boy will be a problem." Metatron simply sighed once more, soaking in the water.

"Whatever. As long as my contractor survives the conflict, I have nothing to worry about." Metatron thought, smirking a little bit. "Now, let me just enjoy this hot bath for a few hours..."

Belial looked around the castle, "Where is anybody? David isn't here, and I can't find Rory or Kiara. I forgot how huge this place is, so maybe they're just scattered..." Belial thought to himself.

(Alright, let's give a shout out to Abaddon right now because the guy contributes to literally 90% of my reaction score lol. Guy is a ******* unit with the likes.)
(Just cuz I could I literally liked all of Shizuka's posts in like 30 minutes instead of doing homework cuz procrastinating is fun. Also Imma just say one thing then return to the shadow realm where I just like shit)

Horus sat on a couch, watching football as his entire kingdom spiraled into anarchy. Sadly he set the volume to 100 so he couldn't hear anyone or anything.

Lance walked over to one of the other bathrooms in the castle. Idly, he took off his shirt, instantly feeling more comfortable without his classy clothing on. his torso was toned, yet thin. very little muscle mass, but otherwise a good-looking figure. obviously, the man devoted time to his appearance, both in terms of cleanliness and fitness. His mustache, which he had trimmed and shaped, hanged idly below his nose. He had considered cutting it off at numerous points, but in the end, let it stay. the mustache itself was an iconic part of his image when he was a performer, and thus he kept it, for nostalgia if nothing else. His days as a stage performer had long since faded into memory. Magicians aren't impressive in the dream world, not when any person with enough willpower and strength could perform real, powerful magic by themselves. and so...since Lance couldn't make any money with his usual performances. he had to shift to more....unsavory work.

he still remembered his first kill. how the man had fallen over, a knife impaled in his back, blood flowing from the wound, as Lance stood over him. How the light slowly faded from his eyes as he looked at Lance in confusion and terror. the poor guy had never even seen him coming. he remembered how he had nearly thrown up afterward, how he had tried desperately, fruitlessly, to wash the stain of blood off his hands. but it never truly came out. and Lance suspected it never will.

That was the first of many kills. each kill affected him a little less. made him a little less disgusted. Warriors, Kings, Queens, Mobsters, everyday people, it had made no difference to Lance after a while, as long as he had gotten paid. he had become desensitized to the violence. to the bloodshed. to robbing the life of someone else, to preserve his own.

“am I…mad?” Lance asked himself. Before the dream world, he never would have even thought about taking another man's life, especially not for money. before the dream world, he would never even have lifted a hand of violence towards anyone he met. he was a pacifist. someone who preferred the pen over the sword. or at least...he was before the calamity struck.

he shook his head, dismissing the thought. the past was the past.

he turned on the facet of the sink and idly washed the grime off his face. His body was still dirty and bloody from his spar with Kiara, Yharon and Rory. He had....enjoyed sparring with them. It was nice, facing people without the intent to kill, without wanting to rob them of their life, like he did so many others. He wanted to be done with that life. done with killing. at least without just cause.

He looked down at his two stumps, his hands gone now that Meatron was relaxing.

"what am I going to do with that summon?" Lance thought to himself. He was hard to work with, rude, cold, and generally a pain to deal with. He reminded him of some of the royalty he had met during his mercenary jobs. yet...he couldn't help but feel a pang of affection towards the summon. for all of its words, it had already saved his life numerous times over and granted him power beyond his wildest dreams. but that wasn't all he felt towards him. there was something else...something he couldn't put his finger on.

Lance looked at himself for a while, and sighed.

"...I need a drink" he thought. he put on his shirt and stepped out of the bathroom, wondering if the castle had any alcohol in it.

Belial searched around the castle for his mother but did not find her, as she was training in a far-off location. "Looks like she has hit a stump in her training and is trying to break through... It probably won't take long. I'll give it a week before she figures out whatever she's missing and has another massive growth spurt." Belial thought to himself. She really was an amazing person...

"And I can't help but cling to amazing people." Belial thought, the roots in his body festering and forming a sphere made of the suspicious wood. "Second after second... I'm gaining more control over the power of these roots. Like they're mere extensions of my body, and I'm controlling them instead of the other way around." Belial thought to himself.

"Maybe..." On his command, the roots formed a variety of complex and abstract shapes in the air, displaying his enhanced control over their movements. "You're trying to tell me to use more of your power, right?" Belial asked the roots themselves. But he got no answer... Not in the form of words, at least.

"You want me to take control." He asked the roots but still got no answer in the form of words.

"I don't understand much... But I think I have an idea." He said as he wandered around the castle, soon ending up in the bar with a variety of beers and wines. "Drinking? It isn't like I can get intoxicated, but I guess I'll try."

Lance, who had stumbled upon bar a short while before Belial, was standing inside. he was busy mixing himself a drink, using his telekinesis to lift the liquids into the mixer, before placing it into a glass for himself. he was tired, and wanted to just relax with a good drink.

he looked upward, just in time to see Belial approach, nearly spilling his drink in surprise.

"Hello, good sir.” Lance said politely, though there was a nervous edge to his voice.

"I hope you don't mind if I help myself to some of the fine drink around this place, your group truly has a magnificent selection"

"WOOHOOO! thank you, honey!" David said, still grinning. he let go of Masayoshi so she could heal both him and Yamato.
Masayoshi kissed David, healing him as she did so. She then walked over to Yamato, placing a hand on her shoulder and healing her injuries.

"I have no doubt that if you battle alongside us, we can best the Goddess of Power...." Yamato said, basically inviting them to join the group they had.

"That is, unless Hel gets the job done first..." Surtr said.

"I'm sorry, did you say 'Goddess of Power'?" Masayoshi asked.

"As in the Goddess of Power?" Towa chimed in.

"is that what you guys are aiming for? taking out Val?" David asked. still blushing slightly from Masayoshi kiss.

"why do ya want to beat her? did she do somethin to you guys?"

"Wouldn't do me any good. Intoxication has no effect on me." Belial said, "I guess you could say we are similar... I destroyed the world once. Left it as a clump of static void for eons." Belial said to Lance, sighing.
"well...I think you have me beat in terms of...' regretable actions'." Lance said.

Lance took a sip of his drink and sighed.

"Neither of us can change the past, my good sir. I think the only thing we can do is to make sure we are a better man today than we were yesterday. That's my belief anyway" Lance said, staring down at his glass.

"Can't argue with that. I didn't want to change anything anyway." Belial said, sighing. "What are you even sticking around for? You have more money than you could spend in 10 mortal lifetimes.. Go buy a mansion or something." Belial said.

Lance shook his glass absentmindedly using telekinesis, causing the liquid to swirl around inside. He took another large sip, before pouring himself another glass.

"I...want to see if I can return to favor, somehow. for the generosity, your mother and Kiara have shown me"

"Plus...being a mercenary doesn't earn one many companions. I'd much rather stay in this house then be alone in some stuffy mansion, with only my thoughts and Metatron to keep me company " Lance said.

"Heh, whatever you say man." Belial said, chuckling a little bit. "If you wanna repay them though... I think they'd be happy if you entertained the baby with some magic tricks. Apparently Kiara's got a bun in the oven."

“Oh I’d be delighted to!” Lance said, a smile on his face.

“I didn’t expect Madam Kiara to have a baby though. I thought she was in a relationship with Rory?” Lance said.

Lance looked at him for a moment.

“I see…” Lance said. Not quite getting it, but assuming they had a sperm donor or something similar.

“Still…love is a beautiful thing, is it not?” Lance said, smiling absentmindedly.

“You’ve lived a long time sir, have you ever experienced love?” Lance asked.
"Love?" Belial asked, "Yeah... I guess you could say that, if we're talking romantic affection."

"Love?" Belial asked, "Yeah... I guess you could say that, if we're talking romantic affection."
“Exactly what I mean! Such as the bond shared between Rory and Kiara.”

he took another deep swig of his glass, his cheeks already becoming slightly red.

“I…ive never fallen in love before. Even when I was in the real world, I never truly experienced it. Tell me…how does it feel?” Lance asked.

"...I wouldn't really know. I'm wondering how exactly it feels myself." Belial said, unexpectedly pouring himself a shot. "Romanticism escapes me. Barring my family, I've never had emotional attachments. Not until I met him.. It's a confusing feeling." Belial said, gulping his glass down.

"...I'm sorry to hear that sir. but I hope that you, and whichever person you have experienced this love for, have a happy future together! assuming he reciprocates"

He raised his glass into the air

"I propose a TOAST, to love, and new feelings!" Lance said happily, raising his glass with telekinesis in a gesture to toast with him. at this point, he was more than a little drunk.

"Don't hold your glass to high... You never know when the next calamity will strike. When the next enemy will come around or when you're next loved one will die." Belial said, forcing himself to get sort of drunk by modifying his body.

"Dream World? Nightmare World sounds better..."

((It hasn't been long enough.))

"Your right! who knows what tomorrow will bring! it could be bleak and sorrowful, but it could also be amazing and uplifting! that's the beauty of this place, you never know what's going to happen!" Lance said cheerfully.

"Why...if you told me yesterday that I would be drinking with a demon, I hardly would have believed you. but now look at me!"
