Diogo found all of this to be more than a little suspicious, but he reluctantly complied as he climbed into the van. "There's certainly no candy here," He mutterred to himself in a bit of dark humor, though he was not smiling.
After everyone got settled up in van, you could hear the engine roar to life before the van left the parking lot and went down the road. There weren't any visible windows where you were, only a light fixed into the ceiling.
The girl sighed. "So, did you guys do anything to piss off the big guys?"
"Ok, just to clarify something, do any of you have a written notice for this trip or a recommendation to sign for our parents? Because I had none of this" I say, slightly agitated.
"Kid, we're literally in a government-sanctioned unmarked van to a government-sanctioned dungeon. Honestly, parent recommendation isn't the main issue here."
The girl chuckled and shook her head. "You think they'd be handing out papers about this sorta crap? They don't care about permissions and shit. They just care about themselves. Like I said, this is probably some experimentation." She blew a gum bubble before popping it and shoving it back in her mouth. "Anyways, the name's Jasmine. Girly boy over there is Spring, though he already said that...we come from Cerulean. They took us on a long ride down here...no clue why though.."
"Why wouldn't they? Evil governments perform illegal experiments. It's all in those movies that my grandmother keeps at her house. This seems like a textbook case." She glanced at Charley. "Yeah, we got pokemon. Sableye here. Spring has...uh..."
"Hoppip. Pretty chill one, too, like me," he said with a grin.
"Also, yeah, we've basically been kidnapped. Doesn't surprise me."
"You don't think I haven't tried that?" Jasmine asked as she stood up a little straighter. "They got something here that stops pokeballs from working. Did you forget they control, like, every pokeball? Like, knock yourself out if you want, but Iran pointless."
"Hey, don't shut him down so harshly." Spring rolled his eyes. "Try it out, man. See how far you get."
"Ok, we have been kidnapped, I propose to do the most sensible thing on this occasion ... and all of you instead? Do you want to stay here and wait for something horrible to happen?"
"Better than being knocked unconscious and get dragged to it instead. Anyway, you watched abit too much television there, but judging by the distance they already travel, it's likely."
"Wow, you're overdramatic aren't you?" Jasmine asked as she ran a hand through her hair. "Like yeah we might die but...you really gotta take it that far? You sound like you listen to emo music..."
"Great. Not only is he trying to be a hero, he's over dramatic as well. If they wanted us dead they would have done it before now pal. So quit your whinin."
"I find it unlikely they intend to kill us, there is probably a reason we were chosen in particular. An experiment of some kind? Who knows. We'll see when we get there and act from there."
"So what about a bet? If this is just a stupid journey I will be more than happy to eat my notebook, but if it is not ... I will tell you "I told you" ... small consolation since we will probably experience atrocious sufferings "
Thomas smiled around to everyone in the van. "Okay, look. I know this looks kinda sketchy. But, it really can't be that bad. It'd be inhumane to perform any experiments like that on a bunch of kids or Pokemon. Heck, fairly confident that's illegal to boot, even nowadays." He took a moment to breathe out quickly before adding, "At the very least, we should remember to think positive here."
"Hey, this guy's saying what I'm thinking," Spring said as he pointed at Thomas with both index fingers. "No need to worry, guys. I'm sure it'll be fine. Hey, what's your name, man?"
The van began to go across a bumpy road, which made the ride certainly not smooth. Whatever road they were going on, it had a lot of potholes in it.
