Hitting someone on different levels of existence

If Person A hit Person B in the soul while Person B has no resistance to soul manip, will Person B instantly die from that first hit?

I used soul here but I'm also asking about what would happen if it was concept or mind instead.

It should only be instant death if the ability has shown to instantly kill people who get hit, or if it specifically destroys the soul rather than simply doing damage or some other effect.

Yeah like Ed said it depends on how it works, if its shown that when they hit souls it damages them then yes it could kill the person.

Welp, as soul do not have durability, its effects depends of how the verse consider it, it could be like Jingokuraku, that damaging ones very Tao (essence) it nullify Regenerationn and cause memory loss; or could be like Anima, that reduce regen. In both cases, if the soul suffer too much damage, the result its a true death, aka erased from existence.

Bump. I heard that the wiki standard was that the person would instantly die if their soul was struck from one attack if they had no soul manip resistance, can anyone confirm this?

Unless they can "survive" without soul, removing the soul of someone will erase it from existence.

Not specifically removing it. In the case of someone being able to strike people's souls through their physical bodies where it is only said that they are able to damage the soul, not that they instantly destroy it.

Sorry, I meant destroying, removing the soul do not erase someone from existence. Animic damage do not necessary one-shot the soul, yes, otherwise it would be Soul Destruction, not animic damage. Other specifications depends of how the verse treat it.

I agree with Ed

There are some odd cases though, like souls with explicit durability, people like destiny characters who just don't care about their souls, souls in other locations, but his thing should work as a default
