Fairy Tail Hundred Year Quest Discussion Thread 7

Hopefully, but I want to see them get more hax as well.

Also, while I want the anime to be canon, don't be too surprised if it gets rejected. Hopefully it gets accepted. Also, is there anything in the first movie that would change or affect the character's in any way?

1st movie is non canon

If the movie was canon, we could scale Zeref and Acnologia to the Phoenix, who has like a High 6-A feat

Damn...

But to satisfy my curiosity, let's say that it was canon, what would it add?
Remember that guys who save lucy from falling? He was mention in manga

Yeah, the Phoenix was gonna destroy the world, which is very vague, I assumed surface of the planet, because he did this

Fairy Tail Phoenix Fire Ball

You know what I find interesting, Acnologia had his blue markings after he became a Dragon Slayer, but before he became a Dragon, my guess is that those Blue Markings are Acnologia's Dragon Force and he found a way to stay in Dragon Force indefinitely, so his Human Form is constantly in Dragon Force

The last episode of the anime was good, while Natsu did still One-shot Acnologia, but it was a very pretty One-shot, as well they brought back the beautiful first opening for the anime, it was great to hear "OH YEAH" it was quite good, everything else was very beautiful, overall, I'm very glad they went out on an emotional level, that Nalu tease still hurts tho… overall it was pretty awesome.

Now that the final season of the Anime has ended, we can look over it as a whole, we can look at both the pros and cons

Cons:

  • Animation is pretty lackluster for most of the entire show
  • The story still inherently has its flaws with itself due to random power ups and 0 consequences for the heroes
  • The Anime didn't extend or add that much filler to fights that desperately needed it
  • No good feats besides Deus Sema
  • The series on initial viewing gives sort of a dissatisfying feeling with how the story went and how the animation looked
Pros:

  • The last few fights are actually not the bad with the Dragon Slayers vs Acnologia fight being extended and having the best animation in the final season
  • The voice actors are doing a phenomenal job as their characters
  • The music is on point and they brought back some old classics from the original series to spice things up
  • Despite animation and story flaws, you really feel the emotion of the scenes that want you to feel
  • The Openings are pretty and are great catchy songs
  • Deus Sema gave us Low 6-B
  • The story and episodes get better with repeated viewings after you let go and just have fun with it
  • The entirety of the manga was adapted and then some by giving us Acnologia's backstory, basically you can watch the anime without reading the manga, and you still get the whole story, so it's one of the lucky few to get that treatment (100 Year Quest is a separate matter)
  • If you're a Fairy Tail Fan, you'll likely love this sh*t regardless of the flaws
So overall, is it what we wanted. Eh, probably not, but at the very least, I had fun with it and we did get to see the anime finish the story, which is great since Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Soul Eater, Toriko and plenty more Series didn't get. Yeah the animation was pretty meh and didn't give you amazing fight scenes that you wanted, but there were plenty of moments where I just loved what the anime did and when I turned my brain off and just had fun with it, I really enjoyed watching it. In conclusion I think that the anime is the best way to experience the story of Fairy Tail since you get everything in the story plus the movies, where one of which is canon. While the manga has better art, I believe the music, voice acting, and occasionally decent animation actually make the anime the ideal way to experience Fairy Tail. I'm glad we got this anime and I hope to eventually get a 100 Year Quest Anime that's better animated than this one.

Idk I doubt we ever get an anime on the spinoff

I'm so glad we have the 100 Year Quest, if Fairy Tail ended just as it was, I don't think I would've been satisfied

Was rewatching the last few episodes and if the show had ended with 324 (excluding the Acno tease at the end), it would have been heart wrenching.

"You can't end this on your own anymore, can you?"

We finally know what Natsu mean't by this thanks to the anime. After Acnologia starts going berserk, Natsu sadly states that Acnologia can longer win the fight on his own, and because of that he is going berserk, Natsu knows he can beat Acnologia at this point and knows Acnologia has on his own just realized that he can't win, so he is going berserk in denial of his inevitable loss claiming no one can stop him even if they combine his power, Natsu is pitying how Acnologia on his own just can't compare to the combined power of friends, which is a power that Acnologia does not have, so Natsu moves forward and ends it in One Shot, this means that Acnologia probably knew he was weaker and was gonna lose in this moment, think about it, he was sweating when they combined their power, so when he goes berserk, it's just him in denial of inability to surpass Natsu and His Friends Power together

Not bad Hiro, there actually is some depth in the final fight
