If he doesn’t tank the thermal "vaporisation" energy of the laser, while not being durable enough to tank High 6-A vaporisation, I think he would just... get vaporised on contact. The description of Charon’s ability in the manga is provided by Shinra, relative to Shinra’s kicks, which don’t vaporise people.
