No, from the looks of things Hit's actually trying to kill Jiren, even supported by saying he's working.

And he was using his assasination technuques on jiren in the preview, we even see hit use it on jirens chest (and if you pay attention Jirens chest is concave where hit used the attack later in the preview, as in hit did actual damage, abiet with his instakill technique).

Jirens still gonna beat him but still.

Am i the only one who think Hit gonna do better work on jiren than Goku ? it just seems this way from the preview

Ultimately the UI was disappointing because he couldn't beat jiren and he ran out of time as well, i won't even be mad if Hit beat jiren "i know it won't happen tho"

Well, if you think about it Hit's abilties are better for a fight with Jiren since Goku was only able to match him in pure h2h combat, while Hit has his strange ki attacks and time skip.

Of course considering jiren is still fighting him, after what's supposed to kill the opponent in one hit, speaks great of Jirens stamina.

And hit consudering it actually did something. But then we see Jiren and Hit both with barriers up, (Hit visibly exhausted while Jiren just looks pissed)

Barrier may counter hits stuff, not sure, next week is gonna be cool.

To be fair, hits using attacks thst bypass durability and are supposed to kill his victim instantly, the fact it dudnt do that to Jiren says a lot.
