Vol 1 and 2 are mid, vol 3 is great, vol 4 is fine and vol 5 is great if you love character moments and development over cool fights, vol 6-8 the series just keeps getting better

So Cinder Fall vs Azula will basically work great for Season 10.
(And Kazuya Mishima vs Iori Yagami for making that missed chance of Tekken vs KOF in 3D)
Oh we definitely have Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer for 3D and Discord vs Bill Cipher and The Dovahkiin vs Chosen Undead and possibly Ant-Man vs Atom for Season 10.
And likely a Shazam character and one Flash character for Season 10.

This is a rare opinion. Never seen this kind of ranking for RWBY volumes.
Vol 1 admittedly is a bit of a rough start, though that applies to a lot of shows.
Vol 2 was when the show really started to pick up for me, and I really started enjoying it.
Vol 3 is clearly the best.
Vol 4 is a little underrated in my eyes. Weiss' development was great. I just wish everything else about the volume was as interesting.
Vol 5 left a bad taste in my mouth, though I don't hate it as much as I used to (I still heavily dislike it).
Vol 6 is very hit or miss. Some episodes are good, some are bad.
Vol 7 was the best volume since vol 3 imo. Ironwood's character was amazing, and there were a lot of interesting dynamics, though I do wish some of the stuff were better executed, like the fight between Qrow, Tyrian, and Clover. That shit was ass.
Vol 8 started off good, but took a massive nosedive towards the end. Idk wtf happened there lol.

To be honest the Atlas Arc should have been three volumes instead of 2, I think I was the frist person to notice the fact Qrow wasn't going to accept Tyrians offer to team up and was going after him until clover started to attack him, trying to arrest him to follow his orders no matter what instead of what is logical
penny dying makes sense for the end of her character arc and fits the Theme of accepting death as a part of life, she chose something for herself instead of being treated like a weapon or vessel for the maiden powers that she never wanted

The only problem for the match is Saber's Plot hax, which is kinda meaningless since Altair has a plot hax as well so it wouldn't that much of worry
High-Godly regen will get negated by Yukari
I'll prolly make the matches alongside Hades vs Tenshi and several Riders matches either this weeks, i'm still binged watching Touhou MMD lel

1. I used to despise Akame (Akame ga Kill) vs Killua Zoldyck (Hunter × Hunter) but then recent retrospective upgrade for Soul Eater from Fire Force means that Killua dies harder against Black Star (despite having apparently more close connections with Killua) than against Akame.
Basically many super massive stomp matchups which does not even generate fun spites or meaningful debates annoy me.
Off topic: May I ask... How good is Julius Novachrono (aka the time guy for Black Clover) for being used for Death Battle? I have one opponent of choice, which in turn frees her opponent for battles against opponents more fitting in power.
2. For "my favorite matchups that actually is popular"...
Not like my matchups are the most obscure (or should I say not obscure enough to drag attention of specific die hard fans)...
But that there are already existing matchups which are loved by many and by myself as well.
It seems like Pepsiman vs Coca-cola Polar Bear is the matchup that actually gets popular (or should I say - has already been very popular) and is somehow significantly pushed and promoted by myself. (Even then Pepsiman vs Bud Knight is coming to share/steal the spotlight of drink mascots)
