I guess the fact it was surprisingly vocal that some were disappointed by this MU. Or maybe the fight didnt resonate enough, for some reason Link vs Cloud 2 is a big disappointment example I bring up, maybe despite Bond's legacy it didnt match for VS viewers.

Ofc, its only been a day. It might be 850k next day, 900k or so after and gets to 1mil by Friday.

I have a feeling this matchup will do better with casual viewers that Versus fans specifically, though Wick losing might be a hard pill to swallow for some.

Definitely seen some people annoyed at Bond having his gadgets and car while Wick has a knife and gun. Admittedly, I thought the car was kind of unfair too, but they basically turned it into an environmental hazard for both, so it evened out.

I do love the way Bond’s gadgets played a role in the fight. It never felt they were being shoehorned in for the sake of checking off a list of references to make. Bond’s laser being used for the kill, the exploding pen being used by both as a weapon and to move the fight location, and the cigarette being used by Bond to catch Wick off guard. This is how you work a character’s arsenal into a fight naturally.

Only one main issue I had with that Death Battle was the fact that they severely underestimated John's fire-power with his fire-arms. John Wick (the verse.) are pretty ridiculous and far from ground with how those guns actually work.

For example in the first chapter, and I believe the 2nd chapter even standards pistols were leaving holes in solid steel beams, whereas only such is accomplished with high caliber rifles in real-life. Also the shot-gun being able to pulverize High-table armor that were deflecting gun-fire from automatic assault rifles, the aforementioned pistols, etc.

Another thing I didn't quite understand was them failing to bring up John's military background since it's heavily insinuated that John served in the Marines in the past.

Ultimately it wouldn't change much since they used a composite Bond, but the analysis could have been better. Also they definitely should have included John's comic stuff since it's canon to the movies, where he dodges bullets pretty often.
I think they should’ve used payday stuff tbh, even though it also falls in the “it wouldn’t change much” category. I just think if they were to give Bond his game stuff they should do the same with Wick

My best friend actually no life's Payday and he also said they should have used it for him.

Plus my main issue is like, uhhh why? Who even asked for this match? Let's be honest they definitely had higher requested matches for both (John vs Bourne or Rambo.) and (Eggesy vs Bond or Bond vs Austin Powers.) the connections were pretty stupid. John isn't even a spy, and Bond really isn't an assassin as much as he is a Spy. Plus with Chapter 4 coming out soon I don't really see the reason for this MU in particular outside or guns n suits hur.

Some dude on Reddit confessed that three years ago he wrote out a letter asking for BondWick and sent it to Chad and Ben.

I do think there are legitimate complaints with what Bond was given, because he was ultimately overcompensated in equipment when he really didn't need to be.

Compositing Bond's 1962 to 2002 movies is already enough to beat Wick. Including the Daniel Craig 2006-2021 run was kind of unnecessary and contradictory due to being a different character, but sure they're comparable enough. Giving Bond all his video game and comic book gadgets and feats? Completely ******* unnecessary and ridiculous lol. Just complete overkill. Especially questionable when I don't remember them mentioning any feats or items from the John Wick comics (which iirc also has bullet dodging feats, which would have made Bond & Wick's speeds about equal) or HIS literal TWO games and ONE Payday appearance, you could've tossed him as an extra bone. Would it have changed the verdict? No. But it would've made things seem a bit more fair and like they were truly using everything at the character's disposal.

If I was behind this MU I probably would've done Daniel Craig's Bond vs Wick. I have no idea if Wick wins that one or not but in the case he does, then lets just say I would have done Bond's 1962 to 2002 movie run and that's all I would have used. It still would have allowed him to beat out Wick in versatility and gadgets, and match him in the aspects necessary to survive, which still would have netted him the win, without being completely ******* overkill lol.

Ultimately these are only really minor nitpicks but I do think stuff like this goes a long way for public perception.

But back to talking positively about the fight, YES I love how the arsenal was integrated into the fight. Probably one of the best aspects of the fight. Bond's gadgets constantly moved the fight along, either by forcing Wick to adapt to the fight and change his gameplan, or completely changing the fight location, or being used for genuine interactions and good choreo. Just really good stuff all around, made for genuinely enthralling fight scenarios and upping the stakes in a good way.

I'm not really in a rush to see one but probably a next season or the season after I could see us getting one. Genshin's rise of prominence took a little bit and there was only so much to work with and no major matchups for a while.

Decent enough folks I guess
Has a couple of who wins video between them overall both had Better MU but this isn't the worst they could've done tbf

I'm watching the members exclusive Bondwick commentary. There's a couple of things to point out, not in any particular order

1. Swan voiced Q
2. Next episode is directed by Josh
3. Swan wants to bring in Agent 47. He recently got into the Hitman games. Ben and Chad seems to be cool with him.
4. Ben wanted Bondwick because it's the "old vs the new/original vs modern" theme match-up
5. Josh asked if Ben and Chad were interested in bringing in John Wick since 2014 when his movie premiered, they said unlikely since Death Battle only did sprites fights and was more of a video-games fight series back then.
6. According to them, even if they only limited Bond to Daniel Craig, Bond would still win.
7. They chose Craig model over Sean Connery because it would be weird for Connery's model to fight like Bond did in the fight.

If only they were still there at most 50/50

Also Swan The Spy exist for 47 I'm telling you it's right there to do

This is just a theory, but I suspect they went with a grounded Blender fight to save resources and time for Sauron’s fight.
Sauron fight in 3D?
Makes sense if he fights Ner'zhul and Arthas, who have 3D models as well.

Oh wait. Sauron fight likely in 3D, James Bond vs John Wick already in 3D.

This means we already have the matchups filling the rumor of at least 2, likely 3 3D fights.

So one more live action fights and basically we will have all remaining matchups as animated 2D sprite fights.

4. We know whom to blame for not having James Bond vs Jason Bourne and John Wick vs Agent 47.

5. So a John Wick matchup has been suggested since 2014? They know that Cole MacGrath vs Alex Mercer and Galactus vs Unicron and a lot of other legacy matchups are left behind right?

So was looking a bit more into Apocalypse outside of our current profile and I found some interesting powers,

"Self-Power Bestowal: Due to En Sabah's total control over his molecular and sub-molecular structure, further bolstered by the Celestial technology augmenting him, he can also consciously or spontaneously grant himself with a wide array of new superpowers at will. "

"Apocalypse has constantly evolved to survive, increasing his powers over the centuries. His original ability to control his molecular structure was augmented by Celestial technology and further enhanced through the Celestial armor to become the Evolutionary Caretaker.[36] He was also exposed to at least two different techno-organic viruses over the years, which he assimilated and made his own."

"Celestial Energy Manipulation: Apocalypse seems to have a range of energy harnessing and projecting capabilities, either naturally derived or based on Celestial technology built into his physical frame.[28] He can use these metaphysical forces to accomplish a great many facilities; such as illusion & memory conjuration, matter reconstruction, healing as well as total physical restoration of damaged or destroyed bodily tissues."

"Energy Absorption: He can also absorb energy from outside sources to augment both himself and his overall power."

So he has a form of adaption more than what we have on the profile, he can give himself basically any powers he wishes, can manipulate and absorb basically any kind of energy (including metaphysical) and can manipulate matter. This is sounding more and more like the Captain Marvel deathbattle but actually a decent match up.

Hopefully it be good this time

Has Apocalypse become the likes of Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Pink Panther and Popeye and such?
