The 2-A stuff is from Dissidia I think, which I'm not sure would be factored in. It's kinda like Final Fantasy Smash Bros IIRC (DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THIS).
 
The real reasons Rey Palpatine does not have Legends scaling are

1. Rey Palpatine only appeared as a Disney canon character
2. Disney only considered the movies as Disney canon and the crazier things and higher standings happened outside the movies
3. Extended canon stories have development drastically different from Disney canon right after Return of the Jedi. Therefore materials are contradicting against each other.
4. Even if we argue Rey defeated Sheev, she only do so with the power of Luke who is not her own. In fact it is part of the story her body could not bear such power for long and needed Ben Solo to sacrifice himself to save her.

I know we may reach the same destination but I want to stretch the correct logic.

Does this make Marisa vs Yuffie actually interesting? Hurray throw away Nami vs Yuffie and have Marisa vs Yuffie and Nami vs Weather Report already.



On a separate note...

How to consider canonicity of Fire Emblem characters? Say... Is the canon gender for Byleth Eisner male or female? (Kind of affects the 3D model to use on fighting against Rean Schwarzer actually)

Dissidia is essentially an in universe canon crossover however the FF characters are only 2-A within the Dissidia setting. Characters from FF5, FF11 and FF14 are still 2-A without Dissidia thanks to their own scaling/feats (most notably the void) plus Dissidia is canonically a prequel to FF1 so they get 2-A stuff too and since FF11/FF14 are MMOs they get additional crossover scaling on top.

Essentially the scaling chain in FF is loooong and judging by DBs current scaling standards, any other FF rep will be tier 5/FTL at bare minimum with stronger reps being tier 4/MFTL and the strongest reps getting into tier 2/MFTL+.

Ofc I just want a FF rep that isn't from 7.

IIRC Byleth is refered to as Male in some promotional material, not to mention Male Byleth is the primary one for Super Smash Brothers.

Considering how the non-horny part of the Fire Emblem fanbase generally dislikes Female Byleth's design, I could easily see DB using either one.

With this out... How many matchups with Toaru series characters or Honkai Impact characters or Honkai vs Toaru MUs you can think of? (I have little idea for both, less for Honkai)

ohhhhh okay, so this is a bit less fair than expected unless you use the Yuffie from Dissidia specifically. From what I've been looking into though I think I kinda like this match, Yuffie has more haxx than I expected so she might be able to negate and survive some of Marisa's haxx. I'm gonna keep looking into this but this could beat out Lina Inverse and Amitie from Puyo as my favorite Marisa MU at this point.

I've been waiting for this to be finished! It's very interesting to see the perspective of a genuine scholar parse our funny little internet show and our debate culture. I dunno if I agree with him on a 2D animated fight having been the better option though. The fight likely would've been even shorter and worse off.

One more thing for MU w/ Marisa Kirisame: Yuffie Kisaragi is way more well-known (or, better heard) than Lina Inverse and Amitie or even Jessica.

The only other guy I can think for Barry Allen is Peter Parker and while I think that has decent connections, it's still not a popular match up and it's a heavy stomp

1. ... how many time users and "speedsters" does Marvel have? Speaking of Marvel iirc having more characters than DC in general.

2. How many more Flash characters do we need to portray in Death Battle?
I am sure Gorilla Grodd vs Mojo Jojo (taken over Grodd vs Winston) is still very high on the list.
 
I feel like Hunter Zolomon is still there. But IDK if he's popular enough.

I heard Pucci is his best match up, which considering Pucci is JoJo, might be enough to carry the views especially with Stine ocean.

I feel Hunter definitely wins against Pucci
