Yeah, that would suck, Cell vs Dark Samus is a haxstomp with pretty much no connections and wastes Cell's potential for good dialogue, the only things it has are music and animation potential, but even then so does Copy X vs Cell

I mean, all of Mario's best stuff come from games that don't even acknowledge each other. I'm pretty sure in one interview someone at Nintendo said Mario outright lacks a continuity or something like that. The games constantly contradict each other (Mario being an adult at the same time as Cranky Kong but being a baby when modern Donkey Kong was) and are made by tons of different teams of staff.
