D&D Adventurer WIP Blog Pt. III

Is it good enough to post or does it need some more work?

Yeah it looks fine. At some point we need to work on a unified composite list of canon spells if possible. It would let us know all abilities and resistances offered.

I'm fairly certain Saves system allows D&D to resist all but a handful of hax.

Actually should I make a new section for Immortals, add Thanatos to the "Ascendant Beings" section, or change "Deities and Demonic Lords" to something like "Higher level beings"

New section for Immortals, I think.

Actually, I never remember getting a good conclusion, but

What are we thinking about just making "Adventurer" and splitting up the classes into tabbers (And the levels into subtabbers since the page will still be gigantic)

Wouldn't mind that since its a nice alternative opinion, but we would need to get everything who came in on the last two threads to weigh in again.

The main issue with the Old Ones is that they're to mysterious to have any art depicting them.

Wait what. @Mr. Bambu and @Azathoth the Abyssal Idiot Zargo of all things originated in Mystara. I legitimately never knew this. It even mentions the volcano thing

Zargon can regenerate its body as long as its great horn is not destroyed. Regenerationn from the bare horn may take a number of years, but otherwise Zargon is likely to be at full strength whenever the party encounters it. Zargon's horn can only be destroyed by being cast into a volcanic fire (like the Eye of Zargon in the underground city, area Q). Zargon will not regenerate during an encounter (it regrows too slowly for that).

@DMUA I prefer it, since it is vastly more accurate, but given the recent stigma against profiles of large size as a cultural issue it probably is gonna get shot down.

@Qawsed ...what.

I mean, it's mostly just walls of text, not profiles being big

We just have to organize our stuff and tabber it to oblivion

by the D&D metric Thanatos is unironically one of if not the smartest creature outside of omniscients

He also unironically capable of playing 4th dimensional chess.

and 5th and 6th dimensional if he works really hard on overcoming that nexus

Players: Explain this shit

WotC: T I M E A N D S T U F F

Okay after doing like, 10 D&D profiles now. A weirdly large number of beings are extremely dedicated to destroying the multiverse in some fashion.

sadly flowery

someday, dear Qawsed

someday

Curse you flowery quotes. Not every day you get a mountain shattering statement and planetary shaking statement for a random enemy.

Well.

A quote about how adventurers can rival the gods, could be well after Epic levels.

But yeah, jesus.

Greyhawk Cronos has a CR of 56. So its a high tier Epic Level Monster (also oddly enough one CR lower than the Hectaoncheires)

Lol, poor Graz'zt

> Perhaps the most famous of Demogorgon's goals is the destruction of his two greatest enemies- Orcus and Graz'zt. The three Demon lords have been locked in battle since the dawn of the tanar'ri, and while both Orcus and Graz'zt spent some time dead or imprisoned, Demogorgon has never fully defeated either army, for when he moves against one, the other's forces are always there to strike at his flanks

...thooooought we agreed CR at that point was shaky as hell

like yeah adventurers can absolutely reach astronomical points but in no way should we look at an epic level adventurer and think "yep they dwarf the gods"

also all characters from Curse of Strahd are up

Qa, I am very tempted to do the Warcraft and World of Warcraft 3.5e supplicants, because Elune has loads of Passives and is a, get this...

CR 92 Goddess.

Yeah. I was just bringing up that Player Characters aren't meant to fight him right after becoming Epic Level, but well within that tier when they rival gods in strength

like yeah adventurers can absolutely reach astronomical points but in no way should we look at an epic level adventurer and think "yep they dwarf the gods"

Sure we can say that, its just that there's multiple quotes all saying that Epic Level adventures can indeed fight and defeat people on this scale without being gods. So there's some consistency in 3e/4e about this

also all characters from Curse of Strahd are up

Nice

I feel like....

I dunno actually. Its a official merchandising iirc, so its not like it can't be used. But we should separate D&D WoW and the actual Canon WoW.

Naturally, also, the D&D WoW isn't cannon to Normal WoW (At least not anymore, I.E 2007-2010 it was cannon and then it was retconned)

Also, most of all because there's a lot of things that are different and more powerful in WoW RPG than WoW.

Okay, just making sure.

Also it seems that Demogorgon's favorite past time activity is beating up Orcus in combat: 1 2 3

Also Mr. Bambu to clarify my points, its probably still not a good idea to scale adventurers to be on the level of gods since its not very realistic in-universe or out of universe. I was just saying that an argument can be made for a 2-C to 2-A key for the top level Epic people.

So sorta on topic, Orcus needs to have this changed

> Low Multiverse level (One of the strongest Demon Lords. Can control the space-time of multiple layers of the Abyss. Comparable to Demogorgo, who shook an infinite realm, and other demonic lords, who can control the form and workings of their entire infinite layers, some of whom can also control multiple infinite layers, as well.)

I would change "comparable" to "Capable of fightning" since Demogorgon has consistently defeated Orcus in combat. Even when Orcus has backing from other Demon Lords.

Right, fair enough.

So looking at the Princes of the Apocalypse stuff, they have really solid AP feats and scale to CR 18-20. I've already done Imix's passive terrain heat change and it came out to very high-end 6-C, so we might finally have a bridge for the jump from CR 13 to Epic Level (so like CR 22 or so).

Imix is CR 22 himself, yeah?

Edit: Actually it looks like he was downgraded to 19(?) in 5e, and looking at the others, it does seem like anything Imix does would scale to enemies of CR 18+, I suppose.

Imix is CR 19, actually. Earth guy is CR 20, other two are CR 18.

Mmhmm. Earth guy's calc came out to 7-A, Water-Man's is a mere low-end 7-B because lolstorm, Air's is looking decent enough.
