Can Kirby kill souls barehanded?

Considering how he consistently eats ghosts, and has fought tons of enemies that are "Soul" forms (Drawcia Soul, Magolor Soul, Marx Soul, Soul of Sectonia, Star Dream Soul OS), it got me thinking. Reason this is in Q&A intead of CR is because I'm not convinced myself.

Does Kirby consuming characters actually kill them? And I'm pretty sure at least some of those bosses (Such as Magolor Soul) are just names and not the character's literal soul.

For the first one, yes. Or at least it eventually does. Though he can still off ghosts with his other abilities, even his slide kick.

For the second one, that's what makes me not sure, because Marx, Magolor, and Star Dream were definitely alive for the second part, though Kirby did indeed kill a soul for the last one (Haltmann's soul was in Star Dream and Kirby ended it permanently)

Well, Kirby franchise has a lot of ghost like enemies...
