  • I have many responsibilities on this site, and this means I only wear each hat for as long as is necessary. Therefore, you may leave CRT/calc eval/whatever requests, and I will try to get to it, but understand that my time is limited and I'm normally already tapped for some wiki policy matter or maintaining the wiki management threads or handling account issues for users who never seem to get things right. Low priority requests include tiershit, particularly active verses, and discussions with a lot of active staff voices already present. I'm not saying "no" but I probably won't get to them. If I don't reply, smart money says it won't be me to get to it. Sorry.

    Sorry to disturb you, but I had a quick question about how we handle tricky situations on the wiki.

    Let’s say in a movie, something is visually depicted as a black hole (with features like an accretion disk and event horizon), but in the dialogue it's called a neutron star at least twice. On top of that, there are multiple WoG statements, from the director, explicitly referring to it as a neutron star, and they even mention that a physicist helped them design it accurately.

    So from one angle, the visual and technical elements suggest a black hole, but there’s a strong and consistent set of statements identifying it as a neutron star.

    In a case like this, which takes precedence on VSBW, visual depiction or explicit statements?

    Hello. I decided to ask this to you since I'm not sure if this is worthy enough for a thread.
    So, as you know, we have roblox player inserts in this wiki. John EBG, John Combat, etc.
    As with some of these games, these game have no "canon" to them. You just join and kill stuff. However as per SBA, the "strongest canon" version of said party has to be used.
    So my question to you is... do we assume the "most skilled version" of said party? It's technically SBA but for roblox player inserts (or any game where it's a player controlled character)?

    if they have no canon then they technically run afoul of our rules, since we require an element of plot to be indexable

    Your standard assumption would be their strongest form, whatever that may be. If they get stronger based on skill, then so be it, that would be the version of the party you use.

    Doing it the other way would provide advantages to some characters, or significantly weaken others. Yeah, everything affects the balance of a match. Your Top 5 list is sort of flawed in that it doesn't take that into context. Suppose you have a 9-C with mind manip resistance and a gun versus a 9-C who can mind control people by the millions, is the former stronger because he wins a 1v1 or is the latter stronger because he can turn New York against one man?

    The SBA states that the conditions ought to be tweaked so that no party has a significant situational advantage. That's our policy more or less summed up.

    I think its moreso appropriate to make it so that neither parties are stopped from using their abiltieis to their full extent. So for eg someone who would usually start with a nuke in a pure 1v1 having to choose smth else because too many people will die
