DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

so initial watch-though thoughts: both breakdowns were solid, I like the whole crew showing up in this ep. The animation was pretty but the lack of set up really hurts the flow of the fight. Overall the fight lacks character interaction which is one of the main things I look for in a DB. It also doesn’t have a good “hype moments and aura” scene that could keep hooked.

Rn I’ll give it a 6/10, better then grumind but below Bakureze.
yeah, like, I was really hoping for Aang to give Aether some kinda pep talk about pacifism or whatever, convincing Aether to spare Aang or take him down peacefully

Idk, would’ve been a neat character moment

EDIT: I still liked the episode, thought the fight did a good job of showing each character’s powerset, and had some neat moments, and I honestly didn’t hate the analysis that much

it's not about being born in a certain year. I was born in 2004 but only got around to discovering legos properly around 2012 because we were poor and not in a country where legos were widespread.
i got to legos at the golden age of ninjago because of a friend introduced me to it.

My favorite part of the episode, pretty hype shit.

The second is the Death.

Same. The way Aang counters the traveler using the four elements and his speech are super cool and is so close to scratching my itch for hype moments and aura but it’s lacking something. If the music was more intense maybe it would work for me but rn it’s missing something to put it up there with other things this year like Bakugo’s revival or Ichigo’s Bankai.

it was ight, something about it felt off idk how to explain it, it wasnt a smooth 3D fight like cell vs metal sonic, but instead kinda jagged and all over the place. feels like it didnt have a lot of direction until the end, and maybe part of that is because the fight just starts with them scrapping— they dont need to talk or nothing but atleast have a actual start with a face off or something lol

and ive seen far more avatar than genshin, but part of me feels like they lowballed the sht out of aether, or maybe they didnt idk, but i feel like they should not be that close in “power”

I won't lie and say the episode was perfect (it's a 7.5 IMO) I have some criticisms they should have at least tried energy bending, a beginning to the fight and more character interactions between the two (and Paimon and Appa).

But I do believe some people are overreacting acting like it's worst then GruMind as if ain't better in nearly every way besides character interactions. It's feels like the opposite of Rose-Tinted Glasses, acting like its something worse than it actually is.

Pretty middle of the road episode.

Honestly wasn't expecting them to give Aang a slight power advantage lol. Like if Avatar didn't top out at lightning speed this MU would be debatable going by their Traveler stats.

Very interested in next time though.

Yeah its fine but nothing special

So Cartoon Network aired Ninjago in here, but I watched bits of some episodes here and there, Bionicle I had a game I played since little, I understood very little of it then, I also watched I guess a lore explanation they had in game along the monstruos beings do transformers like transformations with cool 3D camera spinning, they were scary shen jumping on you to attack

Barely did here, Gogeta and Vegito was pretty much the same characters fused differently, so you had to use anything difference that tips the scale

Plus thats casual to Aether, so he doesnt need to put too much into a barely x1.09 difference
