Answer is simple: They DID NOT read the Illidan novel. They did the basic scaling of using Gul'dan's feat to scale Illidan, and then using that to scale Arthas. Might have even read the Arthas Novel. WoW is one of those verses where you basically need encyclopedic knowledge to scale it fully lmfao

Well if we're gonna have a battle of the billion+1 haxes fight then I'd rather it be Doom vs Vecna than Doom vs Gilgamesh like people were expecting way back when. Like someone on staff learned about Traveler and went "you know who would be cool for him to fight" and then pitched it and pushed it through as their pick for the kickstarter.
