DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

There is perhaps one match for TV Homelander above all others...

Homelander vs Sigvald the Magnificent (The Boys vs Warhammer)

Imagine Homelander but he doesn't even try to hide how vain he is. And also takes that vanity to the point of hearing about a race having good hair, assuming that means they have better hair than you, and then marching a big ass army into their homeland. Over seas that want to kill you.

We're at the point of "End civilizations because they chipped your nail while you literally wear armor to regenerate your entire body" levels of vain asshole. And it's not like Sigvald doesn't hit the pathetic marker too, cutting the guy's face literally caused him to fly into a blazing tantrum and then crying like a *****. And minutes before this he forgot trolls regen, so uh... he was then beaten to death and had his corpse pissed on by said troll.

By the way that occurrence is basically his entire motivation in Age of Sigmar. He attacks cities under Nagash on the regular just because he thinks Throgg is there. And he doesn't seem to get that both Throgg and Krell are dead-dead.

Though, Sigvald doesn't really hit the actually threatening and intelligent markers. In fact his Win-Loss ratio in army fights is worse than the Eldar, whose company hates them. In-verse he's threatening for being a notable leader of a Chaos Warband, but in meta he's Slaanesh's favorite loser, and he was considered her weakest champion, by none other than Slaanesh itself. And the guy is a bag of rocks rattling around with some messed up creativity thrown in for fun.

Yeah, but Death Battle is wrong.

G1 blog is in a right-streak (don't know a better way to call It) for a while now.

A much better argument for Denji scaling to gun goddess is scaling Aging devil to it and then using the statement where Denji is compared to primals later on.
Using that scan as tanking is like a zombie getting blasted apart by RPG fire and then scaling him to it because his upper torso crawled a bit after the fact

Can't believe everyone was talking how CSM was being hard nerfed by Fujimoto for themes and such when actually it was Gege hard nerfing JJK by being too realistically scientific and making every character be speed-blitzed by anyone who can taste of crumb of FTL speeds lol. Denji being able to dodge invisible instant forces like the Bang also leading him to being able to bob and weave Dismantles is also funny considering how everyone kept hyping them up.

(Yes I know that vs debating is subjective but I don't recall ever seeing anyone bring those feats up here or anywhere)

Also while I understand people questioning the blog's definition of 'survive' from those high-level attacks I think they underlying part of their argument is

1) Those attacks clearly didn't immediately kill Denji permanently, he was still alive afterwards and
2) With his absurd regen he just bounced back, hence tanking the hits.

Gonna find it really funny if DB considers Denjiman eating the Cursed Energy Devil to be a valid wincon here as well.

Now that the debate is way more controversial who do we think is winning this between Yuji and Denji?

Lock it in and no outsies.

I prefer Denji overall but Yuji winning makes more sense going off the vibes. CSM always had a more "grounded" feel to it's level of powers while JJK is more in line with your average over the top battle Shonen ordeal.
Going off the stats from the G1 though I guess Denji wins.

Locking in my boy Denji since day 1, even if there was the chance he lost. Never cared for this matchup so I didn't know exactly how the powers might interact but the G1 blog was pretty good at filling in some holes. Crazy how I never saw anyone bring up Denji just being able to dodge and deflect the Cleaves and Dismantles before this. Also don't think Yuji's blood 'poison' is going to be a factor at all.

No offense to you in the slightest, but CSM being seeing as a more 'grounded' verse is kind of a wild take.

Look I put the word grounded in quotes for a reason. I'm more talking about spectacle and general vibe, like when I think of a fight in Chainsaw Man I imagine a fight between characters who are Teir 8 at best and typically ending with one of the parties winning off of gimmicking their opponent while JJK has more grandiose shonen battles. The final battle of Part 1 ends with Denji gimmicking out Makima with Power's blood and Part 2 ends with the big final climatic battle the part was leading up to getting interupted in by bugs and ending abruptly.
CSM is more inline with something like Dorohedoro or Dandadan while JJK is more inline with like YuYu, MHA or early Bleach. It's more """grounded""" in turns of their depiction of grandeur.

Even if the Range is 10+ KM that can be shoot omnidirectional?
Yes.

Like, if they really give 1000x speed advantage while giving enough strength to kill him, Denji feels like classic modern VS winner.

No but really, has range ever been a winning factor?

Nah I totally get where you're coming from. If we were judging CSM just off of part 1 fights I'd be more inclined to agree 8 times out of 10. It's just (for me) all that gets thrown out the window the moment we move to part 2.

I don't think the speed gap will be that high at all. And I dont think strength goes to Denji either.
