DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Imma beat real I don't think DB got it in em anymore to deliver strong choreography these days

And this is not just because of Grumind I just noticed this season a lot of fights just be basic ass shit not innovative or real creativity

Just hype moments and aura with the occasional spectacle
This really

Tho Cell vs Metal had good choreo imo

It was a good mix of actual cool figthing and aura farming

I like CellMetal, but arguably the raw choreography isnt that great. Only beginning part had some good hand to hand scenes, but most other scenes were much simpler. Now, those scenes were still good, but it mostly was animation scenes and, well, references even if better used ones. A proper hand to hand choreography requires more I think.

Well, at least compared to the more recent episodes, I think the choreography is a lot more engaging in Cell vs Metal

Then again, does choreography need to be heavy on hand to hand specifically? A lot of fighters use it but not all.

Hell, Ive been thinking that actual weapon to weapon / long range combat in DB has actually been lacking. FriezaMegatron & MasterchiefDoomslater, which were prime material to be good zoner fights, actually still feature quite a bit of melee and esp. latter didnt have them fight at long range much. Is this doomed fight category? Is watching two characters shooting at each other automatically inferior to melee clashes?

Yeah but have you considered that some people miss Marvel and DC?
If its in moderate capacity, but is there any marvel vs dc match up worth doing? Or any left at all that is
Damn was that our last fighting game episode wtf?
Right? And death battle not even once has done a mu with any especially since 2023 onward, when fighting games started to come from various companies with their respective hype, DJTiki even said he wanted to do more of these, by the time they even do any, most of the hype just goes away

By respect, there is Avengers vs Justice League. Tbh JL prolly wins it due to having more big guns in main roster, but this is big MU.

As for bringing sth new to the table, I kinda respect Swamp-Thing vs Man-Thing. Historically Swamp giga stomped but I heard Man-Thing was buffed years ago too, so maybe there is sth here.

Lowkey most big MUs have been done. Even if there are weird gaps, there are still quite a bit of "replacements" like how despite F4 being MIA, there are 2 Doom fights and SilverSurfer + Galactus. Or how Bats vs Spidey Rogues are mostly MIA, but they did do VenomBane technically and Bat/Spider-families still have a lot of eps.

There are some characters who have only old episodes, but at least they do have appearances. Dare I say stuff like CaptainAmerica getting new one isn't a priority.

Niche capeshit that would be fun could work, but again, arguably not priority.

I do ask about caper opinions quite a bit, but for once DB's new trend of no capes means things havent changed that much. Maybe I did forget, but a lot of priority big characters are absolutely well represented, and considering scope of capeshit, maybe too well. But if there are big ones, anyone please list.

I love Baldur's Gate 3 as well but Revan probably still has better outright stats than Dark Urge unless you're being generous to the GOAT.
Considering Durge has more acceptable scaling to D&D's high tiers compared to Revan he should win. I didn't see the DBCast but I doubt they went into just how insane and multifaceted the D&D cosmology is compared to Star Wars'. Especially considering Durge would be rocking the Netherbrain and Crown into the fight.

Disagree with durability and regeneration. From what Manga scans I've seen, Denji is a extreme glass canon, and he doesnt have any notable durability feats that can tank shrine from Yuji. And id argue Yuji have better regeneration, its more self sustainable then Denji's who needs external needs for his in the long run and even then we don't know if it'll work seeing the nature of Yujis blood and the fact he can just make it explode inside Denji.

Granted, his durability is just outright better in his Denji Man form, mainly due to possessing Pochita's body. I cannot say the same for his hybrid form though (only in piercing durability, his blunt durability in his hybrid form is displayed to be pretty good). He should be able to walk through most of those dismantles in this form.

However, where I have to massively disagree with you here in regeneration. It is not really even a contest in all truth. Denji can regenerate from decapitation, having his body annihilated and return multiple times and granted he runs out of blood, he can return just as easily with a drop of blood. His regen can also casually negate severe things like having his biology changed, cancerous dura neg and other stuff.

Yuji's RCT is limited to limbs and if you damage vital areas like the head or even his gut, he loses his ability to control C.E and permanently dies. These are also target points for Chainsaw Man in his fights. There is no way in this reality that Yuji's regeneration is better than Denji's.

Edit: If Yuji explodes PB inside of Denji, he can just easily put himself back together using the poisonous PB which he drank. His regeneration is just that potent.

For anybody watching The Boys, does the newest episode affect any of Homelander's MUs? I've seen people say it actually flips some of them, but I don't know how exactly.

............. You got it dawg 🤦🏿‍♂️. Ive made my stance and you made yours, we obviously disagree with each other, so imma just wait for the actual episode to drop.

It's a debatable so can't blame ya or him

He should be able to dodge the dismantles in base. Yuji doesn't have much speed feats either and kinda gets bottled necked by Dabura. They also calced him attacking within the 0.2 domain but he just attacks before its even launched and pulled 5km distance from. How exactly do you see hybrid Denji walking through dismantle though? It's like town level by our calc and mountain level going by their calc.

Thing is, how will he get the blood if Yuji just slices off his head? Could've sworn he generally need help but a few times he's just grabbed his head or body part.

You'd have to literally blow his brains out for it to not be usable lol, otherwise he should just regen the area like Gojo and Sukuna could.

Yeah Yuji's gonna learn quickly to stop using blood and just switch to shrine. Idk how Denji handles Cleave besides just dodging

So is anyone arguing that GruMind is wrong? Or are we just saying that the way the post-analysis is explained sucks?
Both, I'd say. Megamind has definitely way more going for him in terms of overall equipment, and that's due to them having a very abhorrent analysis on why Gru is better than Megamind. Even if you personally think Gru could win, the same can be said for Megamind except the latter has the actual arsenal to make it happen whereas they scaled ALL of Gru's stuff to the goddamn Shrink Ray. If the analysis was explained in a proper fashion without any of the usual Death Battle shenanigans, then it'd be way closer than you'd think but only because they'd actually treat Megamind seriously instead of turning the guy into Dan Hibiki.

I feel like y'all are pulling this Denji stuff out of thin air or generally not understanding how their abilities and feats work....but imma wait till the actual episode come for vindication.

None of what he is saying is faulty. It is casual scaling and feats from the manga that actually happen, we are not just pulling stuff out of thin air. Everything we are saying is accepted by this wiki. And trust me, we understand or at least I do. I could probably tell you every CSM chapter and its number, what happens in them and anything significant that happens in them.

Also I will respond in a minute Arkenis. I am just watching the latest episode of The Boys before TikTok and Twitter spoil it for me.

I was under the impression that after Modulo Yuji got a giant AP advantage against Denji, did something happen in-between to change that (other than the Michigan sword)?

Im not saying its faulty in the slightest, thats not what I said man. Im saying y'all are misinterpreted and or generally not understanding how their feats and some of each abilities work. Idc if you bring out the scans, I dont think y'all understand is what im saying, y'all are making Denji into something he's not and im over ger confused asf as to why. But its whatever at this point 🤦🏿‍♂️

Nothing really, that was just people vibe scaling. Denji's strongest form always had a significant stat advantage over Yuji.

Even if we go by Death Battle scaling wank, Denji has far better scaling metas such as scaling to Primal Devils who can create planets, reverse gravity on Earth and casually have world ending prophecies.
