Majority of the community hates the episode, but they’re gonna do it anyway because Liam likes it for some reason

I would argue you can get them higher than city. That’s just a low estimate.
The biggest issue I have with the fight is that Spartacus doesn’t bounce off Yujiro as a character at all. There’s basically no connections and he doesn’t fight well either since he doesn’t have martial arts experience.

I still think Hayato Fūrinji or Homelander would work best for Yujiro.
Even with like the higher end scaling for Baki, Meruem is still around the same level + having magical ki bullshit. Like there's no advantage Yujiro could use to even counter much of the stuff Meruem has.
I like Yujiro vs Homelander because despite having an advantage with abilities and potentially stats, Homelander is a moron. Yujiro has the means to close the gap by using the massive skill advantage.
I like Yujiro vs Hayato because it's borderline mirror match. Both are genius fighter with very similar scaling. So the little advantages one has over the other makes the difference.
Meruem matches Yujiro bar for bar and has extra bullshit on top. Like he can fly and shoot death balls and is a strategic genius with similar stats, like what is Yujiro gonna do? Like it's not just he's out stated, he's out gunned to. His tool kite is not designed to even humor the kind of stuff Meruem can pull at that scale.

To be fair DMC hadn’t had a new games in like what 8 years and Clive FF game wasn’t that popular compared to other FF games.
Baki still has a on going anime that always charts in Netflix top 10 anytime it drops a new season so it’s popular enough to get views.

This would go hard as a fight animation up until Meruem gets satisfied by picking apart all of Yujiro's techniques and probably stealing some for himself since he has a lot of really good ones then just eating him since he molly chops Yujiro in every category aside from raw combat skill and even that's arguable due to that busted ass precog he has.Hey does anyone like Meruem vs Yujiro Hanma?
Been thinking about this since the DeathBattleCast with Leon vs Jason, and the discussion about contrast MUs. In this case, it's a fight between two characters who consider themselves (and are in their respective stories) "the world's strongest creature." It also satisfies Meruem battling the most powerful man, in this case Yujiro taking the place of Isaac Netero.
They aren't exactly opposites, but it has that same "it's cool" energy that Leon vs Jason and Columbo vs Light (memes aside) have.
Maybe it's just me, but I **** with it. Kars' weird novel version can go fight someone else, and all of Yujiro's opponents have better options (minus Hayato).

Yujiro vs Homelander ??? I see the connections between the two, but it's still not good and the fight potential is worse imo.
In my opinion, the best matchup for Homelander and Yujiro is Iron Patriot and Genjuro, respectively.

If Yujiro can throw a car at John or collapse a building on him that would actually do damage to him, unlike Merium who'd just shrug it off. Getting Homelander onto the ground is much easier especially since he's quick to anger and not the sharpest crayon.

That and the anime made the ending of MHA feels way better, which make this series the only modern mainstream Shounen series with a pretty satisfying ending

You know I'm surprised that Generator Rex hasn't ever come up in DB discussions, not even as a DBC episode. I know he gets paired up against Cyborg but it feels like a Ben 10 situation where that matchup is for Rex like how Ben vs Hal was a matchup for Ben. The only difference here is that Rex hasn't had people glazing him for years so if he loses to a character that most people just know as "Guy that shoots lasers" it won't be as big of an outcry.
Though I don't even know if Rex wins or loses that and giving Rex the Meta Nanites feels off when he only had them all for a single episode. Plus it turns the fight from debatable to Rex stomping Cyborg.

Ben vs Hal is a little different since it was also under consideration of not wanting to see Beast Boy just totally annihilated, so maybe if you find a matchup for Rex whereby a fan favorite is mega-stomped you’ll get something out of it.

Gen Rex was overshadowed by Ben 10 overall and also has nothing equivalent to Alien X to glaze over or anything else close to that when it comes to vs battles and most of these were thank to kuro the artist video he made way back then
Although from his episode breakdowns he more or less spoken how all this hype for Alien X came mainly from just being OP and thats all there is to it once omniverse gave it better treatment, which even the show itself before that era made jokes of it being meh
Cyborg is a DC character and knowing Death Battle scaling, he scales to what other heralds get as well, I doubt Rex wins even with all possible stuff given to him

Tbf though, they had collabs and were by roughly the same company or such, also lets be honest, Death Battle had many shows which were heavy on fanservice or as selling point, sex appeal sells and Stellar Blade proved it too
