- Mega Man vs Astroboy (it's odd and I like that about it. It's also benefited by the odd charm of early seasons)
- Shigaraki vs Mahito (besides the animation being great I do like how they covered the matchup in the most interesting way they could despite the stomp)
- Bardock vs Omni-Man (some of the vs stuff was dodgy however I really enjoyed the character run downs and I also think the fight itself is underrated)
- Archie Silver vs Xeno Trunks (the only Sonic episode I truly like, yes that's a scolding hot take when Bowser vs Eggman exists)
- Stitch vs Rocket (just a fun time)

I mean tbh, DB does claim to be a show that uses research. If one finds research to be questionable, you should be justified to rate episode lower its also why BillDiscord and BowserEggman arent perfect for me teehee

Yeah, Death Battle has gone on so long for just how entertaining it is. It's animations make it stand out compared to its competition, because nobody really wants to sit down and hear some dude go over why Glup Shitto beats Graggle Simpson. The only other VS show to reach nearly the same notoriety was Cartoon Fightclub, but like.... pffff.

To this day the justification used for Bill having soul regen rubs me the wrong way. The entire climax of the episode was predicated on the concept that because they were in Stan’s mind that they could just do whatever they could imagine. Memory Stan even regenerates the giant hole in Dipper’s torso before telling him that exact thing. Bill’s “regeneration” in that episode was something they could all do as evidenced by the fact that they do in fact all do it. And he only survived the memory gun because of the Axolotl saving him.
