Yeah, nothing in the manga about a direct multiplier for Summons, no "summons amplify magic power by several magnitudes" or anything like that. Just scaling over spells like Sectional Graviole overcoming magic power being cut to 1/10th of the original.

Nice and simple eh, well then there's 2 main choices to go for then.

Option 1: Lupin Zero, this here is a ONA which takes place at the earliest point of the series history. Following the story of kid Lupin and how he met his longest confidant Jigen, this 6 episode adventure is a very good means of understanding Lupin and Jigen's relationship while also seeing how these two are both somehow goofy idiots and genuine professionals in the making. The primary con is that it's only Lupin and Jigen without the rest of the main cast and how this won't represent the entire verse given they aren't kids in the rest of it, but that's not against any actual quality since this is genuinely one of my favorites in the series .

Option 2: Episode 0: The First Contact, this is one of the multiple 'origin stories' that the franchise has made for the main cast. Going through here you'll see all of the main characters, know their deal, and get a general vibe on how the average adventure goes for it. The pro is naturally the fact that this is more of a staple for the franchise and gives you a general idea, the con is not all characters are given equal treatment here (Goemon just shows up to aura-farm, but honestly that's kinda on brand lol) and I do feel Lupin Zero has the more powerful moments just with Lupin and Jigen.

Ultimately though, doesn't matter which one you pick (or both). The franchise has continuity so loose that once you get a feel you can kinda just start moving wherever. After initial introductions I'd recommend Part 4 if you want more modern, connected storylines or Part 2 if you just want to see some random episodes that typically don't connect (akin to a Saturday cartoon)
 
Alternatively if you want more mature media, the woman called Fujiko Mine is also a good point to walk towards after seeing Lupin Zero. (doesn't mesh as well with First Contact since this also counts as an origin story for the group). This isn't recommended first however since the plot for this is rather complicated and gets abstract, but it is highly unique in approach and a good standout

Actually, they were being used in forum threads before then, and I seem to recall universe level god type Digimon fighting DC and Marvel god characters. I'm pretty sure they were usually losing, but those comic characters are usually 1-A now, so...

Sean, can I suggest you direct this energy towards defending Pokemon instead of attacking Digimon? I've often found vehement opponents of verses to be hard to understand, since they're often running with hatred when this whole hobby is supposed to be about verses you care about.

Ah, those two. Basically the company that makes the machines themselves has those two as their mascots. Kinda creates a binding vow with me for feats, in exchange for actual high quality examples those two will be yapping in the corners. It's basically as good as those examples are ever going to look outside of actual wizardry giving me the original source (which are of course locked inside god-damn pachinkos)

............... Mate, this franchise runs under multiverse rules and you are literally saying that to a bunch of front and center Toei anime. That's as mainline as you can get with digimon. Like you are literally goal shifting just to hate on something.

Unless you’re offering to help, which I sincerely hope is the case, there’s legitimately nobody left but me.

After Ash VS Yugi pretty much all remaining Pokémon debaters decided that the main character of the entire verse is a washed fraud and instantly left the wiki or stopped debating it outright. My kind was poached like dodos and now I'm the only one left.

Because of that, all five of my CRTs that I have for Pokémon are now frozen and cannot move forwards, because nobody knows enough about Pokémon to accept them. I'm the last vestige of Pokemon that this site has, and I have people just like him to thank for that.

Any "protection" that I give would be wasted on myself.

I have heavy doubts that fans of a series would  all collectively decide to leave just because some internet series said they lost to a different series. Like if your entire belief in a series amounts to "MY GOAT COULD NEVER EVER EVRR EVA LOSE!!!!@!!$!" and thats it..... were they even a fan? I don't see them over at the Yugioh corner and those people actually won their fight, by the logic they should be thriving but its the same issues there with outdated everything

Death Battle's been shidding on Pokemon for years. Pokemon actually had a huge VS community before Pokemon VS Digimon and that left a sour taste in everyone's mouth with how badly they analyzed Red. They also used DBX as basically a Pokemon loss machine, doing shit like feeding Mewtwo to ******* Frieza or 100 start of game Pikachus to Thor.

In this we have every media constantly referencing eachother, plot points continuing between them, or the characters of one outright appearing in the other while being said to be the same characters outright... we ain't assuming, it is simply not only the precedent the verse sets upon itself, but also something that is confirmed all the time

Mate, that was over 10 years ago. Even if true the VS scene back then was immensely different and nowhere near the common place of today. You're using correlation with causation, plenty of series can make similar arguments or even the reverse. Franchises have had wins on DB only to be left in the dust, they have also lost horribly and are still done today. Just because people care more about aspects of Pokémon outside of the power scaling is no excuse

Just like me?... i literally did nothing, what are you even talking about? I've had Sonic CRTs going for months, upon months with no activity other than me "bumping" again and again... but guess what? I've never gave up, i've kept doing it, sending to staff's walls, bumping the walls once in a while(respectfully of course) and it eventually paid of

Instead of trying to find "enemies" or "culprits" you should focus on yourself and what you can do, if you keep trying, it will work out eventually... Your failures, your victories, they both have you to depend on to decide which will happen... if you persevere enough, and not give up, you are bound to succeed eventually, the road may be hard, and it may take a long time, but as long as you keep trying, there's a chance, "defeat" only occurs when you give up and stop trying, or when you get so lost that you lose sight of what you even wanted

Look back on yourself and ask: "Why did i want to do Pokemon on the wiki to begin with?"

I've been a Pokemon fan since I was probably 6 years old.

I've bought and owned games and guidebooks and mangas pretty much ever since then up to now. It's just always been with me and helped me through the worst times of my life. The same things that work on other people like insulting the verse or "proving" how weak its characters are don't really work on me and just make me more sure of my love for Pokemon.


If you want a more symbolic reason, in 2000, Pope John Paul II blessed the Pokemon franchise and its trainers. I was born 5 months later.

I've fought MANY Digimon fans over my time here. I know how they work. They operate like the Flood from Halo.

They they enter a community and loudly talk about Digimon for all to hear until they finally get other people to agree to watch it. Those people become Digimon fans and then start doing that to all THEIR friends. And so on.
