Luffy doesn't really have any good matchups. They're all either turbo stomps like Marvious or aren't really thematic outside of "pirate". Unofficially his best matchup is probably Naruto and that shit isn't that good either.
Outside of Luffy though most of the Straw Hats could have decent enough or at least could have some if you do some leg work.

TF are you talking about. Final Fantasy is still a very popular series. The MTG colab was the biggest set ever in the card games history on just pre-sales. Magic, the biggest trading card game in the world, had a collaboration with Final Fantasy and it sold more than any other set in it's history. It made 200 million in a single day. And guess what one of the tent poles of that collaboration was.
Final Fantasy is still popular, just when it's not a boring action game that doesn't have an actual party like 16.
Ideally they just wouldn't give Avatar another matchup. Like if anything do some matchup for other Nick series like Jimmy Neutron, Invader Zim or Fairly Oddparents.

I could see the Fairly Oddparents working on DB only if they spend a good amount of time during the analysis explaining how the majority of the verse-specific mechanics work, in a similar way they did to Wile E. Coyote and, to a lesser degree, Yugi, since FOP has a lot of them.

Argubly hand to hand and close quarters? Ichigo is a black belt in martial arts and can throw hands when needed (hell, he broke Giselle's neck when trying to simply punch her away), but hand to hand is pretty much Yusuke's main BNB. You can argue attack potency since DB already established they think YYH's demon world is larger than Naruto and Bleach, and since they aren't letting cour 4 finish, I can see them saying they think Yusuke could one-shot. I don't see them giving him speed, mobility, range (stronger getsugas can be fired more readily than spirit guns) or hax and they may just pit them at equal intelligence

Probably control and training, like they'd bring up Yusuke having better control over his spirit energy thanks to his training unlike Ichigo whose always kinda just dumped a shit ton of energy into a single big attack and just leaks energy everywhere.

Pretty sure the calc on sasuke vs hiei was admitted to be wank, even then, Madara vs Aizen onward had higher values then what they had previously and given how Death Battle nerfs some characters in some regards that had them wanked or seem really powerful at, doubtful Yusuke takes that edge
