While It is a stomp, the connections are not bad. If they gonna use Genshin impact, they atleast need to cover the protagonist first, so It works.

This seems like a good matchup, on one hand arl completley Ap gaps but Itachi’s faster and has Genjutsu which she dosent seem to resist

A. Death Battle has done matchup with side characters over the series protagonists before, see Makima vs Gojo. Popularity of characters matters and sometimes the MC is less popular than some of the side characters.
B. If they're going to use the Traveler at least give him or her something that isn't a retrain of another match up. Aang already got a match up in the past, if he's going to get a new matchup at least do it with a character he has legacy with like Yugo. Picking Aang just feels like they didn't really care when picking the match up and just choose him so they didn't go to far out of their comfort zone.

I still think a character like Arlecchino would still work way better and not have negative momentum like Travel vs Aang had when it got announced.
That or bite the bullet and do something like Traveler vs Warrior of Light (FFXIV) and not just a retrain of a fighter who already got a matchup. Like if your going to try to bring in stuff try to push the envelope a bit with the picks.

Arlecchino didn't have much either only mu tossed around for her are Itachi n Cinder and NOBODY dying for a cinder episode and Itachi mu spread is in sort of a mu purgatory also that one hasn't been pushed until lately

That's like putting a Final Fantasy Tactics character in an episode and then saying, “I guess no one cares about Final Fantasy.” No. No one cared because the only people who liked XVI are dads and girls who want to sleep with Clive’s VA. FFXIV has a lifetime player base of around 40 million, FFXVI has a lifetime player base of around 3.5 million. There is a huge difference.
There’s a reason one of these games got special focus in the widely successful MTG collaboration, and why the other one DIDN'T.
Yeah, then why not give a different character a matchup, like Azula, Iroh, or Katara (I know Katara doesn’t have any actually good opponents, you don’t need to tell me; I’m just listing characters as examples)? This will be the fifth Avatar episode, with two of them featuring the same character.
