In terms of cosmology upgrade? Nothing we didn't had already.

It retconned a bunch of stuff tho. Like Homeostasis is now the Great Will, at the top of the verse. Also, funnily in terms of personality and portrayal, it's much different than the one we knew. Granted, it already had changes over the years, including in Tri.

And it gave Chronomon a big glow up from past lore.
 
Pokemon is getting attacked from all sides these days. The Digimon fans, the Yu-Gi-Oh fans, Death Battle and its fans have nerfed Charizard into being as big of a jobber as Goku, even the Pokemon Company itself seems to grow an extra chromosome whenever they try to touch the series.

Hell, if you want Vader to come back, there's no shortage of good opponents for him.

For me, rematch has to do more than just "correct the result", it has to fix more fundamental failings of the episode (it also helps if the matchup is actually good, which why I'd rather, say, Gaara get a new opponent rather than a Toph runback, for example).

I've got the same view on rematches, it's why I'm glad DB just said they goofed up the research for Yang vs Tifa instead of doing an full episode dedicated to them again just with Tifa winning instead.

Some characters deserve a new match up then just fight the same person whom they can beat now

Heck mario vs sonic, link vs cloud and as lame as a choice by people was doom vs chief, were very early fights with different rules and takes, so they had some reason to get a rematch, some fights though aint worth it

Dante had a good battle and without needing Bayo for it, I dont need a Ryu vs Jin 2 just to have Jin stomp him, especially since they admitted its goes different now, give a new MU later down the line and represent them better

I just mean like solidifying it alot more.
 
There is the thing of wanting a remake just because "I like characters/MU and want to see it done in modern style" which, while fair, is bit meaningless because then one could argue that any MU is worthy of remake.

Id say you need at least one of; a big monumental MU, has had significant changes for characters, the og fight was ass lol. The more you fulfill these the better. but I think you all know what Ive said about this from last time lol
 
Thinking about it, im wondering if the reason Celtic Guardian was able to survive so long in the fight despite being power bombed by Incineroar is because it was actually Obnoxious Celtic Guardian
