Not exactly, he Monster Reborned Dark Magician and summoned Dark Magician Girl and had them activate Dark Burning Magic, which can only be used if both of those monsters are on the field at the same time
The Dark Magicians isnt a contact fusion, and Yugi didnt visibly use Polymerization, so that wasnt an actual fusion

Thinking about it, shouldnt the real way to compare experience is to see if characters have fought someone like their opponent before?

Lol I think this episode might be a 10/10 for me after sitting on it.
No fat on this fight, constant gas and its hecticness ends up working in its favor. Stellar track, amazing chaotic back and forth, its challenging SpawnRider for my favorite episode of the season atm

Real talk, one mushy thing DB seemed to overplay was Ash's legacy. I havent truly followed Horizon but, I dont think it has ever referenced Ash? I think people wouldve mentioned that. The passing of torch is more in meta sense and isnt actually sth Ash literally did.

Just remembered some funny random trivia. In the japanese version of Yugioh, Ash' VA Rica Matsumoto voices Bakura a particularly psychotic and sadistic villiain. It's funny to hear Ash, the bona fide heroic and friendly guy, sound like this:

Season 0 is actually an unrelated anime in a way. Essentially, the YuGiOh manga started with several chapters of the characters playing different games in a more episodic format and later on it focused more on Duel Monsters and story arcs. What we know as Season 0 is actually an adaptation of those earlier pre-Duel Monster Chapters made by Toei, which came out in 1998, and covered up to the RPG Shadow Game against the villain Bakura. The anime that is most well known is a differnt adaptation by Studio Gallop that came out in 2000, which skips the earlier non-Duel Monsters chapters and begins immediately with the longer, tournament arcs.

No one else is responsible for his actions and temperament other than him. Meltdowns over Death Battle just arent warranted, no one should need to mince their words or not be able to joke just because theres someone overtly offended whenever Pokemon is in the slightest unfavourable position

I talk as someone who had experiences of being constantly harassed, teased and stalked over my scaling takes. Posts made clearly with the purpose of ragebaiting people (no, pinging/quoting them is not necessary if you know they're active there) is what adds fuel to the fire and makes tensions worse.

No one is doing any of those things. Sean just overreacts, and he's been infamously doing it for a decade now. Its not like hes innocent of 'ragebaiting' either. This whole 'enemy of Pokemon' schtick hes got is just getting old.
We cant possibly halt people having fun or making jokes just because someone gets personally offended over a certain franchise losing something. Thats on them and no one else, it doesnt need defending.

Its the internet, everyone shittalks everything. It doesn't mean theyre 'enemies of Pokemon' or however Sean wants to word it, they are just genuinely feeling personal offense whenever the series gets ragged on. (Sean also rags on aspects of Pokemon he doesnt like)
It's just genuinely not that deep and we shouldnt need to tiptoe over making the same jokes every Death Battle winner/loser gets essentially just because Sean has a very intense love for the series that has led him to frequent decade-long confrontations. Its only a series, and Pokemon in itself isnt gonna suffer just because Ash lost to Yugi in a fanseries (that the majority of the internet knew he would lose anyway)

Technically there has been Pokemon critique here. I would say that it stems from people here not agreeing with some stuff Ash supporters said and prolly cause the actual state of Pokemon games has displeased some as well.
We make a lot of jokes here, but other people do not mostly take it that deeply.
Stigmas kinda do exists, so in theory this place making uncalled claims for Poke might be sympton of Pokemon in general being treated badly in Internet but uhh have you seen the state of some things Pokemon does? Theyve earned the critique lol

The scaling followed the anime, which was agreed and decided by them to be very different to the game-media. Just because this wiki composites every Pokemon media for their tiering doesn't mean that the iterations of characters will be the same. Surprisingly, its majorly accepted that you cant 1:1 the games and the anime outside of this wiki so this isn't coming out of nowhere (They are different mediums, even if they take place in the same 'multiverse')
Yugi literally just scaled higher to what they scaled Dialga to, and Ash was never in direct competition with full-power Dialga regardless honestly.

The fact in their scaling even Arceus caps at multiversal (if even that) means there's a non-zero chance that even if Arceus did show up to help Ash he'd get beaten by Horakhty wich is crazy. Would be peak disrespect to the franchise.

Tbf Ash only scaled to a singular Roar of Time, black boxes said Ash struggled with Mewtwo and Lugia whatnot. They said that Ash needs generous scaling to match Yugi and regardless, Yugi has 4D+ arguments. Ig we do not know if they dont buy Outer Arceus, but for AshYugi its bit irrelevant.

Tier 4 Omni-Man is also a take that Death Battle used but is it good just because VSBW does not buy it?
He got scaled from Cynthia who did manage to compare with the CT, though.
Stuff like this is why I hope verses I like never get featured in DB ngl.

Theres no personal vendetta, it literally just is the popular opinion outside of this wiki, and that Death Battle also agree with, that the anime and games are separate continuities. And like...the whole existence of Ash being the protag over who you play as in the games is proof of that. Theres a difference between compositing and using separate continuities.
No, Death Battle isnt always right but the VSBW is also...not always right. The way Pokemon is scaled and treated on this wiki from outside of it is not respected whatsoever, ive seen it first hand.
I mean Cynthia had a blatant feat of cancelling out a Spacial Rend, but its the anime's interpretation of Dialga and Palkia exclusively and there are several other factors to consider on why those might not have been full powered feats.
There are also such things as outliers however so we cant ride absolutely everything on a single showing (especially when theres a lot of antifeats, and contextually no other standard Pokemon should compare to the concepts of space and time)
