DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

Man I would love that, either against Squirrel Girl or Gwenpool
Squirrel Girl probably works better since their bullshit is more inherant to their existance rather than an active ability like Gwen. Also I want to see Squirrel Girl's infinite Squirrel bullshit interact with Ambush's Type 1 Paraconsistent Physiology.

Honestly, I still think things are up in the air. There have been episodes where the major stuff is revealed at the end of the episode. Not to mention, more than once the seeming advantages of a fighter have been followed with a major "but" at the veredict.

Now we waiting on Total Death Action next

Reddit trying to gas up Gengar so hard when I just know his ass is gonna just beat some of Yugi's fodder monsters just to get one tapped by something else.

"He can just phase through the walls of the Millenium-"

BROTHER WHAT WALLS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?! ITS A MENTAL/SPIRITUAL REALM! THOSE AREN'T ACTUAL WALLS THAT YOU CAN JUST PHASE THROUGH! THE ENTIRE MAZE IS CONSTANTLY SHIFTING! NONE OF THE SHIT PEOPLE SAY GENGAR CAN DO TO COUNTER THE MAZE ACTUALLY WORKS!

Reddit Ash glazers when they find out that Gengar is jut Shadow Ghoul with a bigger smile

"Gengar can just phase through all the attacks" mfers when you ask why Ash didn't have Gengar just phase through every attack instead of physically moving out of the way of said attacks instead. Frankly that's a trend with Ash's Pokemon where sometimes they'll just stand there and eat absolute shit instead of moving out of the way because Ash didn't say anything. They'll move on their own at times but it's super inconsistent.

At least Yugi supporters aren't acting like his monsters are these hyper competent fighters that are able to do anything and everything without Yugi's assistance. It's always "Yugi can have his monster do this" but with Ash it's always "Ash's Pokemon can do this".

That plus Yugi's monsters and spells can hit ghosts and shadows (and clouds of poison if you want to go that argument).

Gengar is 100% going to be the king boo of this fight, hyped as shit by the community, shows up for 10 seconds, does one thing, and then dies to one of Yugi's aces

Assuming Yugi doesnt just instakill him with Exile of the Wicked

Popeye still wins, right? Like, Saitama got buffs like no tomorrow since the episode dropped, but Eye Lie Popeye just completely ended whatever debate could be had?
Saitama didn't gain anything that could stand a chance with the composite Popeye DB used

At least Low 2-C Popeye has been a thing way before OPM even existed

Saitama gained big growth in battle, touching space portals and uhhh thats kinda it.

...but maybe one day Saitama will be a real deal.

Hadn't seen Sephiroth suggested, I don't think. Though given he's currently losing by a lot, I'm gonna assume it's not exactly a popular MU...
Dunno how the poll is going, but not a fan of Sephiroth winning, tbh. Given how crazy powerful Geats is, it would be much more interesting to give him Nero who is also crazy powerful herself.

Gengar is going to be the Infinite of this fight 😭

Deserved and let's not pretend he wasn't a fraud prior to BowEgg, lost to base Sonic (who spent most of Forces sitting on his butt for six months) and an OC with a gun (that magically found a McGuffin and could activate it) yet was hyped as the strongest enemy Sonic has faced yet.

Honestly the DB episode did Infinite more favours than his actual game (ofc we all know Metal got the best treatment in Eggman's faction), he actually onscreen killed named characters like King Bomb and Goomboss, actually caused Bowser some difficulty and survived even tho Eggman lost.

It would have been fun to see Sega embrace the whole badass edgelord thing and actually ramped it up, instead of showing that all along Infinite was kind of pathetic.

At least the memes following Bowser vs Eggman were pretty funny.

How I felt to an extent with Dante vs Clive.

I know people are hyped for both Fate and Kamen Rider to be introduce to Death Battle but I feel like introducing both series to regular DB watchers with "this character is super ultra gigaversal and can resist all these abilities" is not the kind of first impression that you want to give off. Imagine clicking the video to see what the series is all about and you get "this character is god and is nearly unbeatable" as your introduction to the franchise.

Death Battle when they have to explain why Nero's Queen Draco form looks like that

i've been saying this for awhile but end of the day DB has only themselves to blame for not doing Cap vs Ichigo and Saber/Gilgamesh/Shirou/Archer MU to introduce the series

it is what it is ATP and they have to be completely focus on both characters scaling and feats

What’s the deal with the glowing blue armor
Probably an amp.

With Ichigo, fair.

But Fate uh... most of the servant characters worth using have something cosmology-related to them. Gilgamesh and Nero happen to be the most extreme cases.

ya right however with someone like Saber depending on her mu you don't need to go all in cosmology stuff on her end and could stick to on screen stuff with some lore and shirou is pretty damn easy to cover
