Ash supporters will just say that Ash became stronger in Journeys, so all the old stuff is invalid.
Although hey wait a minute, apparently Dialga & Palkia appeared in Journeys and they were unable to beat them according to Bulbapedia? How convieniently ignored.

yeah, Ash definitely became stronger by the time the Masters Eight Tournament rolled around
Cynthia no diffs Paul in DP, who should be relative to Ash by that point, but Ash defeats Cynthia by the end of the series
Though having rewatched the scene from DP, plus the episode from Journeys, I'm not so sure about the Creation Trio scaling any longer, kinda wish we had storyboards for the episode in DP
It must be noted that the reason Ash and his friends were hopeless against Dialga/Palkia in Journeys is because they were turned into toddlers, and their Pokémon were turned into eggs, which meant that they had no possibility to fight, and this is more of a defeat via Age Manipulation hax rather than AP. On the other hand though, Yugi can do the same with Time Magician so...

Its not issue of Ash beating Cynthia, he actually does that. Its Cynthia getting Creation Trio scaling from very weak arguments.

Manga maybe not definitely not in the mainline games. You can get past Giratina without even fighting it or just being cheap and using a Masterball on it. All three routes are equally as possible meaning they're all valid. So you can say that nobody in the games scale to the creation trio and you would be just as right as saying that Dawn/Lucas do in fact scale to them.

Literally the entire argument is one single scene where one single exchange happens lmao. Masters is a different continuity entirely and people were making this argument before it anyway. This is really one of those moments where powerscaling brainrot makes people ignore common sense in favor of making characters seem stronger. The way that this level of scaling would break literally every aspect of the story into a million pieces is ignored in favor of big number.

Sure, but the main way of getting past Giratina is fighting it and/or catching it. The same applies to Diamond & Pearl with Dialga and Palkia. You, the protagonist, have to be strong enough to catch them, otherwise they won't respect you and disobey you (that's an actual mechanic in the games).
With that being said, it doesn't really matter since the game Ash most prominently crosses over with the game cast is Pokemon Masters, and Cynthia straight up has a Giratina in that game.

Oh my god can we actually talk about how that doesnt make sense?
Like, on top of Ashnime people want to use Masters in mainline games too but what are you doing?? Anime and games had big differences in stories. There is no giant Zygarde statue coming to alive in games. Hell, didnt Lysandre die in anime? And he is still in Masters, whats up with that? Or a lot of other stuff like, did they ever show in games that Lance helped against Team Magma against Groudon in Hoenn? Or how some trainers had different mons, Wulfric had Mega Abomasnow as his Gym ace, which certainly wasnt a thing in XY. Or how Lillie had 2 different adventures with SunMoon protagonist and Ash if they are canon to each other. Do I need to dig up even more shit?
Poke fans absolutely certified themselves to remain in my Top 4 worst verses to deal with in DB talks, thats the only thing Im sure of :VVVV

No, you can actually run away from the fight and you can continue. You don't have to fight Giratina. That's one of the unique aspects of that encounter since pretty much every other story based legendary encounter before gen 5 that you run away from doesn't acknowledge you running away while also continuing the main story anyway. Pretty much every other legendary encounter doesn't acknowledge if you beat, caught, or just ran away from the legendary.
It's not until gen 5 that the game basically forces you to fight or catch the main box art legendary.

Personally I think that's a big problem with Pokemon scaling on this site where basically every continuity is cross scaled. "Zygarde is this strong because it scales to Ultra Necrozma" despite the fact that they only fight in a single continuity and never interact in any of the other ones. I wouldn't mind if there were individual keys for each continuity but there isn't. It would certainly fix a lot of scaling problems like the ending of ZA where it takes an even more powerful version of Zygarde to stop a very obviously not universal energy beam.

I know. The anime and games are very different continuities in terms of story; that doesn't change that I'm 99% sure that Death Battle will composite Ash anyway (especially since the anime itself has different continuities and has manga adaptations like The Electric Tale of Pikachu that heavily differ from the show).
They'll probably composite Yugi too despite the Yu-Gi-Oh manga and anime being pretty different (and the anime being pretty different in the Japanese and English dubs).

Plus, there are some quotes from Cynthia that seem to imply that the player battled Giratina rather than running away. Like this one she can says in the Sendoff Spring in Platinum, "Sigh...I wish I could have battled Giratina. Oh don't mind me. I'm only musing out loud. You deserve the glory and thanks for what you did." or this quote from Black and White, "That was beyond my expectation! What an exceptional battle! You certainly bear a resemblance to that Trainer who faced Giratina... Oh, pardon me. I was just thinking out loud. I love being here in spring and summer. I can't stay all year, because there's so much to investigate in Sinnoh, as well. You're a great Trainer, and it would make me happy to see you again sometime."
So, you can run away, but you also can fight and/or capture it, and those quotes seem to imply that at the very least, Giratina was fought (though, since completing the Regional Pokedex and the National Pokedex are big goals of the game, you can argue that capturing it should be considered, too).
(The devs also seem to want the player to battle or capture Giratina too since they have Cynthia tell the player this before they fight Giratina, "Giratina is enraged because the two worlds are endangered. It has merged the Distortion World and our world at the Spear Pillar. That's why both worlds are becoming distorted. But there's nothing to fear. You can defeat Giratina and show the tight bond you share with your Pokémon. Or you can demonstrate how much you want it to join you. If you succeed in doing either, Giratina will understand. The distortion of the two worlds will stop!")

Asura didnt get manga regen properly, Simon didnt get 20D statement, Tom didnt get infinite multi Chinese Gacha, Miles and Buffy didnt get Herald stuff, Godzilla Ultima's reality warping was restricted to his immortality causality negation and Dante didnt get mid-Godly regen.
There is a chance, a tiny chance, that Ash wont get some of the things thats been said about him and Poke scaling.

But they did include all of those things, though. They included manga Asura, but they thought his regeneration wasn't good enough to survive Kratos's attacks; they debunked Simon's 20D statement in his episode (I don't know if we would consider it debunked or not, but they included it); they mentioned Tom's Chinese gacha game, but it was so new that they couldn't do much with it; they just didn't buy Miles scaling to Marvel Heralds, but they used a lot for him (including the Spider-Man video games); they included everything for Buffy, but they didn't talk about all of it; they included the Gozilla: Singular Point novel (that's why they even made Godzilla infinite dimensional in that episode in the first place), they just thought Hulk/Banner could get around its reality warping; and they felt like Dante's mid-godly regeneration wouldn't be enough since it (according to them) can be overtaxed if he runs out energy.

And yeah, they technically did use those in a way, but they had asterisks on them to not work like it was talked before the fights, but DB chose to use interpretations that can be different from other DB communities. But if you want to be technical, then there. Usually putting things in black boxes are not the core points of DB's arguments... even if they can have crucial information.
