DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

This truly is the death battle of all time
I say that because there is literally an episode of Yugioh GX where one of the duelists' entire schtick was using a female monster to seduce jaden's male elemental heroes into fighing for her and he had to use Burstinatrix to snap them out of it

If Cynthia's Garchomp had blocked whatever vague universe energy that Palkia is shooting out here that would be one thing but that's not what happened.
I remember a while back there was a scaling CTR that was accepted but never implemented (I might be mistaken), and in fact the feat was the other way around: Palkia stopped Garchomp's attack, so it couldn't be used to scale anyone, meaning they kept their Alolan stats in Journeys thanks to scaling to Tapu Koko.
Furthermore, to be fair, Ash only scale Cynthia in the champion tournament (almost at the end of the entire series), in the same scene Dialga overpowered Pikachu, Piplup and Croagung at the same time

There wasn't much worldscaling left to damage.

Ash is absolutely letting 10mil Z move rip, mark my words

(whether or not that's a win con for him, I'm staying out of that discussion)
Probably, considering that he can apparently use each of the Z-Move beams simultaneously (see Picachu vs Steven's Metagross), it could easily be a case where Ash eliminates several of Yugi's monsters at once and attacks him, so that at the last moment Yugi pulls out his last play

I feel like there's a certain point in powerscaling where you really got to ask yourself how these characters can possibly be as strong as you say they are without shattering the entire story and setting over their knee due to how many problems said strength would cause within the plot.
That's modern vs in a nutshell
It's easy to hand wave shit as it's fiction but it's also valid to say the author just didn't think it through

Ah, I remember that episode. It was really funny as hell

I'm personally not looking forward to shit like universal Pikachu because it breaks the setting so massively that it just doesn't make sense when you give it even a second of thought. Because now everyone who Pikachu and any Pokemon like it didn't instantly one tap is now also universal in which case now you got like hundreds of random no name trainers who have Pokemon that can now destroy the entire cosmology.

I know people like to use the "DC doesn't equal AP" argument as an auto defense for this stuff but be real bro. I'm not saying that Palkia is just skyscraper level but I doubt it's throwing out universal attacks all the time every time. Or that it even can do so since it's very possible that it's attacks and it's space hax are two different levels of power. Not like Palkia or Dialga are remaking the universe by shooting a Flamethrower at it or something.

Edit: Hell we see what it looks like when Dialga and Palkia make a universe in the anime and it's not them using their regular moves. If Cynthia's Garchomp had blocked whatever vague universe energy that Palkia is shooting out here that would be one thing but that's not what happened.

Edit 2: Funny thing about this is that you could've argued that Dialga and Palkia destroyed this new universe after Cyrus goes through but then Journeys brings Team Galactic back and implies that Cyrus and his universe might still exist which weakens the "they destroyed his universe" argument.

Dawg, this isn't new. Every fictional piece does this a lot. Sonic, Mario, Kirby, Touhou, DmC, Megaman, etc. This is practically a given if you're powerscaling cuz it is everywhere

But really I'd like a series that try to poke fun at the absurdities of this kinda thing. It doesn't have to be too knowledgeable, it just has to make some sense. i.e Why the universal tier hero basically dies to goombas lol.

tbh you could also argue Cynthia scaling over Tobias, who has a Darkrai, and well...

To be fair, this specific Darkrai is noticeably stronger than most other depictions of it's kind as it can actually fight them in a 2v1 for a bit unlike in every other version that fights Dialga or Palkia 1v1 that usually gets stomped like in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers games.

At least for Yugi they keep it very consistent, in one of the movies Yubel straight up says that Yugi is way more powerful than them, and in 5Ds a guy pulls a card that is stated to be equal to the Egyptian Gods and everyone panics to prevent it from being summoned because it would have instantly killed them

What would the finishers be for Ash and Yugi?
Yugi imo shoul either be Horakthy summoning or Silent magician against a defenseless Ash (Since She's the one to end the final battle on original Yugi-oh)

Ash would absolutely have to be Pikachu's 10,000,000 VOLT THUNDERBOLT, or Solgaleo's Searing Sunraze Smash since iirc it's his strongest mon?.
Genuinely what I think they could do is yugi has the three egyptian gods summoned, slifer uses his lightning attack which pikachu absorbs, then has obelisk go for his punch attack, pikachu is amped by slifer and uses 10 mil volt thunderbolt to clash with obelisk like he did with Tapu Koko, theres a big explosions and a baited breath moment like in most tense pokemon battles, only for the dust to clear and Horakty is summoned. The world goes white and itsjust ash and yugi in a void. Yugi congratulates Ash for being such a worthy opponent, fades back to the real world and Ash has faded away, leaving Yugi the winner.

I don't think they'll go dimensional this episode, probably going stay conservative and place both at Uni.
Even being conservative the absolute lowest they can put Yugi is Low Multiversal scaling above Yubel's 12 universes feat, and thats ignoring the infinite universes feat in that same movie

It's super hard to predict how Death Battle will place characters due to their system of research and requirement of explaining necessary information in a way that is palatable to a general audience in a succinct and easy to understand way. I think the blogs are a far better format of summarizing debates, but they are not that palatable to your average viewer who is there for a cool fight more than anything.

I mean, its super, super blatant in Yugi's case. Like they straight up have Yubel, the character with the power to destroy 12 universes, directly say that Yugi is stronger than them

No Abridged Yugi Voice, i get the possible reasoning behind it but man
