They literally showed the fire killing him horribly. I guess that's tied to the stamina headcanon too. Convenient excuse to basically dismiss the regeneration as worthless garbage.

All based on a baseless headcanon about stamina that was made up decades ago, by people who openly hated DMC, as a half-baked theory about attacks being more harmful when coming from more powerful characters. A headcanon based on nothing and contradicted over and over again.
Fun fact: Nero and Vergil had literally no stamina when they regenerated from far worse.
And Dante one-shot and disempowered Abigail who regenerates from a puddle, and Abigail had enough stamina to run and leap at Dante while screaming right afterwards. Clearly a case of power null rather than wearing down stamina.

I mean I don't blame them, but I do think they didn't do their job as researchers correctly. When you have a show like this that portrays itself as a well reasoned debate settler, your assertions should be well reasoned. I did not think they're reasoning was good.
This doesn't mean I think less of them as people or sum shit but you do offer the work, and your efforts in said work, up for criticism and judgement when you make a show like Death Battle
I acknowledge this is ultimately for entertainment and I don't think there was any dishonesty here like there was with the sun disc shit.
So I agree with the general agree to disagree sentiment, but yeah, people are well within their right to criticize the product
