Scans of Ash using that by default? Because he and his pokemon have been mind controlled way too much for it to be something he has active all the time, he'll he has actively needed to put effort into breaking his pokemon out of mind control before.
Doesn't help either that Yugi doesnt mind control his opponent's monsters to use them against them, he uses them as sacrifices.

Also even if you wanna argue that Ash's Lucario can actually protect against mind control, the scan you used shows that Lucario has to actually be nearby to protect them. All the characters are portrayed as being in a bubble centered around Lucario. So unless Lucario decides to just stand next to Ash for the entire fight (which he has no reason to do since Ash wouldn't know that Yugi has mind control) or he decides to constantly be next to Ash's other important Pokemon (same argument) it's pretty much pointless. It might actually be detrimental since Yugi could use it to distract Lucario into having to protect other Pokemon instead of focusing on Yugi's monsters.

He only really starts actually using aura in Journey after he gets a Lucario, so like all of the instances where Ash and his pokemon getting mind controlled or possessed wouldn't really change Aura's use here.

He did but then it took till journey for him to actually use it again in a meaningful way. Like the stuff he was doing in that movie was cause he being amped from a magic tree.
Also that was technically a gen 3 movie. Like how to the Latias and Latios movie was Gen 2.

Only reason something like this doesn't work for sonic is because it lacks the sheer volume of hard anti-feats mario has and like Mav said the high end metroid stuff got downgraded because it didn't exist in the first place whereas with Sonic they've got like over a dozen uni feats and several feats and statements for the lower end stuff as well (like even Sonic 2 has planet level and FTL statements in manuals and guides)
That said though I myself have done lots of calcs for the lower end feats of the series and they do pull out a lot of casual stuff that's tier 7
