DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

While I won't go over the match in general, looking at the end results, I think it is a common consensus that forced spirit fission wouldn't work on Chaos Emeralds, and Shadow scales to Sonic in skill and experience, so these points would go to Shadow. Hakai... should be comparable to Time Eater, so that's moot too since Shadow resists it. 🤷‍♂️

$1300!?

Yeah, no. That money could've had better use for something more important than that than to lose it all over a bet.
Like paying one's damage to their car off...

Anyways, yeah it's real.

I not common consensus, a bunch people still say It would work lol. It would't, but people disagree still. 🤷‍♂️

No? Skill I can agree that he scale, but like, he would't scale to Sonic experience. For that, he would need to have gone trought all Sonic adventures, which he didn't.

Wait, why do people want her to fight Slenderman, she's perfect for that Jason Voorhees runback.

Eh Slenderman offers a lot more for abilities clashing and debate

Nah skill is def not going to nor experience Shadow guven Vegeta was fighting since he was a kid and ignoring that has match goku multiple times so at best a tie or just Vegeta taking it

Shadow has natural skill, but Vegeta has actual experience.

Whats the argument for Shadow resisting Spirit Fission?

Super's invincibility also creates a problem for Forced Spirit Fission, as well. In Chapter 62 of DBS, Moro directly states that FSF requires causing damage to your target, which Super's defenses prevent, regardless of stat.
For a comment I read a while back, that's why people don't believe It would work.

That's also a argument saying It would't work because Chaos emeralds are not Soul based or smth, but that argument is kinda bunk.

Edit: that kinda doesn't matter, because of Shadow time limit, with Vegeta could outlast, but whatever.

Iirc arguably since Vegeta was still weaker than Moro, FSF could still work as long as the move lands properly. Then again FSF has not interacted with damage invulnerability so it probably won't work.

Yeah, I just equated skill and experience into 1 category, guys. Sonic outskills anyone in Dragon Ball I think (via mastering entire new skillsets insanely quickly, being able to defeat guys who are his perfect copies and/or fine-tuned to specifically beat him and more), and Shadow can keep up with him constantly, even beating at times, so no amount of experience would matter though.

Yeah, even Goku learns things very quickly. Its kinda close tbh, but natural skill I dont think could be argurd to truly match actual experience? There isnt enough evidence for Sonic I feel like. Who is the most skilled being he fought? Technically I cant recall much that would match decades of martial arts experience or is hard to gauge like Solaris.

I mean, even classic Sonic can beat Metal in 30 seconds, despite the latter having the skills and powers of the entire cast of heroes. In Adventure era he can replicate Chaos techniques on his first try. Emerl having 4000 years worth of battles and with the amount of combat data enough to crash supercomputers. Emerl advanced and improved even further afterwards, and Sonic was unimpressed and beat him easily in seconds. And Sonic improves much further in his Modern era, both in general and in skill. Even lowballing it and assuming he grows in skill only through victories (which is false), he grows over 227000 times over.

Like, years ago, I liked to think RWBY skillchains were ridiculous, but Sonic's skill is memetic I think XD

Ultra Instict just adapts pretty easily.

He fought Emerl.

Everyone is like, chain scaling from him in skill. Tho, It does have a problem, since while he could be comparable to him in skill, doesn't mean he is as good.

Like, the impression It give is Sonic just beat Emerl by being waaay stronger, that being better than him in martial arts.

I do wonder when Kamen Rider gets on the show, will they hire a Japanese VA or have them speak English?

I won't deny that, as I know little about Slendy other than him being eldritchy so it's probably a given....but Jason offers a lot bounce off of too, given a runback would certainly entail DB going over his extended canon. I've been really digging this fight, as well as digging into, and I just think it's Jason's most interesting MU, and likely most debatable without going into more obscure characters.

On top of the parallels between their backstories covering the thematic connections, a battle between an ethereal ghost and a meathead zombie offers a contrast and animation potential.

Also it could end in a tie, which would be really interesting.

Wow look at all these characters, too bad only one can win.
Sad truth 🥲

Like, It doesn't desconfirmed the characters for next year, but now people can't choose the character they gonna battle, and the matchup chosen for them might be trash. Like, Springtrap loses in the Island, but he gonna appear in the next season, and his opponent is Sans💀

Ngl it's feels weird to Geats so high up there as well as I believe he shouldn't be Kamen Rider first introduction into the show
