Anywho given the WHO arguments for buffy it does highlight how lack of new material can do to a series relevance as well as having a young audience can be like that
Buffy was over in 03 and its spin off Angel was done in 04 so we're talking 20+ years being a dead franchise

And when they get new material people get invested in it and more well known around

Although some of them may not need anything new anymore, some stories just end and stay like that

Making a Buffy matchup in 2025 is a pretty 7th Gen guy thing to do.
that's also a issue the best time to do a Buffy Mu was around the mid 10s given its culture relevance was still there albeit not as strong as before
i can understand why not given the lack of resources at the time

also to take into account alot of new series come in and if said shows are popular as hell makes them more of a priority for an episode than long time mu

Honestly I'm fine with a series coming and going. Most things shouldn't last forever and it's good for new things to supersede older things cause being stuck with one thing forever is detrimental.

I'm not against either, A story being over and not being beaten down corpse (cough Simpsons cough) is fine just mentioning how a certain things can make a series pull lessen over the decade

It's an overarching problem with Death Battle as a whole. I've said this before in different places but death battle main crew are very much "7th gen guys", uncl core as the kids say. Their peak of cultural awareness was like in 2013, there's a very blatant disconnect between stuff they're knowledgeable about and what the community is mostly into. They're wheel house is game franchises that started in the 90s, """new""" games from the late 2000s early 2010s, 80/90s Saturday morning characters and 80s/90s movies while most of what the power scaling community is today are weebs.
Like this isn't even meant as a criticism to Ben or any other DB guy it's just an overall flaw. Eventually everyone stops being with 'it' which is where we're kinda at.

Hm... do you think maybe it's time to try and get some new, younger people involved then?

Doesn't Buffys more insane stuff require outside help and non-standard equipment?
DB consistently puts characters at their peak regardless of the method its obtained unless it massively contradicts the continuity of their powerset (e.g like how it's impossible to merge Alucard with his pre and post-schrödinger powers).

*Both Madara and Obito got the Ten Tails (the latter even got the Infinite Tsukuyomi in battle while the former also got it via a black box iirc).

*Ryuko got Kisaragi (even tho she needed outside help to get it in the anime).

*Dante got Yamoto (even tho he gave it to Nero).

*Archie Silver got to go super (even tho it only appeared in one panel and the entire Solaris fight happened off-panel).

*Batman got to have the Hellbat armour (even tho it was his Justice League friends that made it and he needs their permission to use it).

Etc.

I don't think this argument works for Buffy.

sadly true

I guess you can say you're more progressive than conservative?

But let's face facts Buffy is a quintessential millennial character so many Zoomers won't appreciate the legacy of her character, like at one point she even surpassed peak of popluarity Lara Croft as the most recognisable female fictional character. Her franchise essentially pushed the CW network into the spotlight for several years even before it was CW (which started with the WB merger in 06 that granted access to the DC IP and the DC TV universe was created with Smallville) and without Buffy there would likely be no Supernatural or TVD tbh. Blade is obviously still quite relevant with Marvel Rivals plus Deadpool and Wolverine wasn't too long ago, so there should be some interested regardless.

I like the MU and I don't really care if the younger viewers can't appreciate it (even tho I'm considered "young" myself). I don't think this will become another Misaka Vs Killua tho and Blade is hardly niche so there's hope for some decent viewership numbers.

Only time will tell. Between the Sundisk and having two non-DC/Marvel herald slayers this season (Spawn and Simon), nothing is truly off the table until the episode airs, tho as well we all know throughout the Vs community (pardon me for repeating myself) Rela to SoL capeshit street tiers is a commonly accepted meta and Blade is consistently among the best of the street tiers, so it'll be funny see how Buffy speed scaling (it almost doesn't feel real typing this) is rated on DB. Inb4 they find some FTL BS in an obscure novel or comic.
