The biggest problem with Godzilla In Hell's powerscaling stems from two things; the story's lack of dialogue, and multiple writers in a comic book with only five issues, and it's the lack of dialog that led to a lot of people asking the authors a lot of questions.

The story is almost 100% abstract (not least because that was the intention from the start if I'm not mistaken, even taking ideas from The Divine Comedy when Godzilla descended into Hell). It's the personification of nuclear terror traveling through different pockets of hell, conquering not only his enemies and obstacles, but himself at the end of the story, but that's the thing, it's almost entirely visual. We have brief narrations at the beginning of each issue (or not even that), or when God-Mountain shouts for Godzilla to submit, or when he goes through an N situation (for example, when he tricks Ghidorah and Destoroyah into destroying one of the walls of hell that was blocking his destination), nothing complex. It's one of my favorite IDW stories, but when it gets into the powerscaling business, that's where things get complicated, especially for those who are puritanical about visual feats.

I personally separate the good apples from the bad, I think it's wrong to say that every WoG based on this story is disposable, because for a story with almost zero narration, everything depends on our interpretation (which is what David Watcher wanted in the last issue). The problem is that people focus too much on shallow and leading questions and answers. Like, "wow, can Godzilla nuke the whole IDW megaverse?", or "wow, is Godzilla omniscient and omnipresent?".

Shin Godzilla is kinda fodder unless you use the director's notes or whatever about him eventually evoliving into a universe or something

Well, up to this point Godzilla has hundreds of incarnations; it is simply too difficult to rank them all. In few words, the Godzillas in VSBW aren't even 10% of all the official Godzilla incarnations across media. ¯\(ツ)/¯

He is tier 1-S (wth?)/0 on certain wikis with the jurisdictions being exactly the same leading questions @WeeklyBattles posted plus a fair measure of fanon too, yet more fuel for the anti WoG agenda that I totally support. The 5 issue story had multiple authors and if you include every IDW author, it's honestly pretty pathetic to manipulate one or two authors to say their character solo's IDW and assume they have any authority over the characters, stories, lore, etc they never worked on and are clearly not connected to GiH.

It's like trying to convince a kid they're the strongest in town because they're the big bad in their class yet forgetting there are other classes, other grades, other schools, etc.

GiH is legitimately a somber yet epic time with horrifyingly intense artwork, it's a shame aspects of the power-scaling community tainted it (not helped by WiS).

Aside from Ultima it probably goes:,

1st) Marvel Godzilla (interchangeable with 2nd)
2nd) DC Godzilla (interchangeable with 1st)
3rd) mobile games Godzilla (possibly interchangeable with 1st or 2nd)
4th) Power Rangers Godzilla
5th) Godzilla Ultima (show not novel)

After that it gets messy, so I'll let peeps more knowledgeable about the big G take it from there (ofc I could be wrong with my rankings).

According to the solicitation, the fight between hulk and godzilla threatens to destroy the planet. The author also said that it’s the “craziest thing I’ve ever put to page”.
 
Cap is a tactical genius, but he’s not built to handle a flying plasma-blasting nuke-level stomping superhuman with solar flares and plasma transmutation powers.

do you agree with that assessment?

Caps shield tanks that shit without even flinching tbh. Heat is just another form of energy; thermal energy, that is. If something can resist an infinite amount of energy of any kind, logically it should be able to resist infinite heat. The shield is literally above infinite-infinites, so chances are it no-sells whatever that guy is slinging. Though, maybe depending on how its transmutation works, it might be able to work? I'd have to see the specifics of it.

Okay but what about AOE Nuke sized plasma explosions? What's Caps counter against a attack like this?
