DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

who would be a good opponent for Akechi from persona?

I'm curious, do you guys agree with most of the research for this "season" of Death Battle?
Honestly the only one that's arguable is Spawn v Rider and Simon v Kyle. The 'season' starts with Kratos v Asura (lore Kratos stomp), everyone and their mother was rocking up to Mahito's funeral, who the hell is is arguing a Master Chief win in the big 25, and Tom v Wile was just a wild-card factor in general.

Me personally, I agree with all the results. Sure there might be some details here and there that I disagree with but the results are more or less the same. That result being my Goats Spawn and Simon winning fights despite all the odds

Yeah, I guess I do? I think the majority of the episodes so far have at the very least been correct. The only episode I explicitly take issue with as far as the research is concerned is OmniDock. But also to be fair, those are characters and verses I know very well, so people who are just as knowledgeable about other combatants may have some thoughts.

Why right side is similar to Broly holding Goku?

IDK if this is a hot take or smth, but I greatly dislike matchups that consist of two returning combatants that already had a recent/good episode. Episodes like Deku vs Miles feel like they take away opportunities for other characters/franchises to get a spotlight, this especially applies when both returning franchises/characters have already had many episodes.
TLDR, it should have been Chomper vs Piranha Plant instead of Deku vs Miles and I’m salty.

Man it's gonna be a real bummer couple of weeks if the next time on Miles vs Deku is, like, Aang vs Traveler or something.
It might actually be as bad. This is definitely getting a reaction of "literally why" because they waited so long for this that Deku got too buffed for a debate. And on top of Marvel overuse, we kinda had MHA few eps ago too. There is already dunking on memes for Miles and good grief if some of the jokes Ive seen would be posted here too lmao

Id like to say the line, but frankly this is such a nothingburger ep I dont feel anything anymore.

Hell, I kinda find enjoyment on the fact that people are disappointed on this MU Ive become cynical its Joever
Idk about you, normies love this shit
I'm whatever to it
only thing I can say "Hey the fight could be good"
Y'all gotta remember db audience is not just us

Yeah I know, I was just saying that the combined period of Miles vs Deku into Aang vs Traveler would be the low point of the season, for sure. So I hope they bring some heat for that Next Time.

Yeah this will do numbers, but that doesnt mean I would have to be interested for it because of that.

At least shitposts are fun, thanks ig?

I wouldn't mind the mu when deku story gets done in the anime to justify doing it it's just why now especially when we already have so many returners already and had a MHA episode in April

This is the issue I feel the community has themselves to blame for personally

Folks didn't feel like x,y or z episode was satisfying so they demand db to run them back while ******* over other series chances of getting on

Especially ones with a more limited window than others

Oh my goodness imagine a timeline of getting MilesDeku, RubyMaka, HulkGodzilla & AangTraveler all in row hahahhahahhaa

I dont think AangTraveler is happening soon. Devilartemis wanted to animate Aang and Traveler needs 3D models, so it'll be way after HulkGodzilla.

Oh no ,you don't have to force yourself to like it
It's a shame it's being done now than latter it's just what it is ATP
Yeah. I dont even feel hate or dislike for this ep. Its actually a blank void of nothingness barring enjoyment out of shitposting.

I mean you'll can speak for yourselves but I personally don't, won't or pretend that Deku vs Asta was even a decent EP when it wasn't and whilst Miles vs Static is such a vague memory from recent revisit of the fight I do think it's underrated but I still think it can be beaten especially given how outdated it is and everyone loves Spider-Man so seeing Spider-Man come back in any form is cool. At the end of the day Death Battle is going to prioritise or at least consider impressions and viewership in order to keep the series EP performing well especially in the new era for them going Indie where they're still finding there footing and having to make cuts to produce EP (i.e the cutaway gags). They aren't going to risk tanking it in favour of filling EP slots with obscure franchises like Magical Index.

And to be frank you're lying to yourselves if you don't care for at least one of these goats, you'd all be cheering through the roof if one of your favourite characters on the show that got a medicore EP was given a 2nd chance of redemption for a good episode bringing it back. Heck, no better example than Bowser vs Eggman and look how much they cooked with it.

Anyway I love both Miles and Deku (I probably lean more towards Miles nowadays but I have a soft spot for MHA), this being a sort of legacy MU of 2 returning loser combatants given a chance of redemption on the show to me feel invested in, the fact that this EP ft. these 2 could pop the **** off makes me really excited for it.

To add one more note; we small groups on these nerdy powerscaling boards are definitely not the main audience lmao. The normies/casuals will and are going to love this, probably a big factor.

Do you guys think they chose Miles over Kamala because of popularity? I don't think I'd have been anymore hyped one way or the other, but I was under the impression Ms. Marvel scaled higher than Spider-Man, so it'd have probably been more fair.
