It helps that when Kyle became Ion, he literally had a fight scene similar to the TTGL final fist fight

It would be funny if after all this debating over the cosmology, they do the downplay route and make him 6-D or whatever level the source is and have Simon win by that.

Really hope the ending of the fight involves them doing one last clash similar to Saitama Vs Popeye's but with their last drill and ring.

Kyle is a fan of TTGL and Simon, no matter who wins, this fight is going to end fairly respectably and cleanly like All-Might vs Might Guy or Goku vs Superman 3. Also both characters are inherently life affirming, Simon is the absolute ingenuity and triumph of the human spirit over infinite odds, Kyle holds the power to enforce the fact to reality that life has meaning. I predict it definitely will end with something like a respectful fistbump at the end, much like Goku vs Superman 3. In fact, if the ending is shown as just brutal for no reason, that would gravely hurt the episode. The fight obviously would start with Simon yelling at Kyle, "Who the hell do you think I am?" Which Kyle easily answers.
Honestly if it wasn't for the fact I just want DC to lose, I'd be rooting for both. Kyle Rayner is my favorite DC character and TTGL is legitimately life changing in how much it motivates people.

You are forgetting the most important part. Simon is a CHAD. What is Kyle going to do against that?

Simon resists basically most of the things Kyle can throw at him. Once again the fight goes down to if DB is disingenuous with how they scale GLs or if Kyle gets the LE. I feel they would want to make it so Simon can beat base WL Kyle but emphasize the LE is so inseparable from him it is a singlehanded gamechanger.

Yeah absolutely, Mewtwo is from Pokemon which is the biggest media franchise in the world, Shadow has had a resurgence of popularity and is likely gonna start his own spinoff franchise post movie success, and the episode they got was blatantly unfinished, spiteful to Shadow as a character, and is one of the worst episodes of the show outright; I think it's more than deserving of a rematch especially since Shadow hasn't had a single good episode since Season 1 of DB.

So Kyle lost the WL before the major cosmology changes, it was still 52 universes. I wonder if they'll scale Kyle to what his WL actually scaled to at the time he had it, or do a theoretical composite.

Bowser vs Eggman is the peak, but I've intentionally avoided GvS3. Is it really as good as I hear it was?
I legitimately am not sure what is #2. Bowser vs Eggman is just such a wide gulf to everything, maybe Popeye vs Saitama?
