Are you talking about Ciri being MHS+ because that is based on her being somewhat equal to Geralt?

Even before that, I can recall dialogue changes in anime dubs where dialogue made characters a lot more prone for sarcastic insults and ironic comments at situations. If you want an extreme example, just check 4Kids dubs.
 
In theory, Chief has more equipment and abilities than Doomslayer, but literally barely any of them matter.
  • Active Camo: Death Battle already said even classic Doomguy could counter it
  • Promethean Vision: Redundant, only allows him to see his death
  • Thrusters: Doomslayer has one
  • Dropshield: Doomslayer can just walk inside and Chief ain't gonna win a H2H fight
  • Grappling Hook: Doomslayer has one, and it lights people on fire
  • Shield Lock: Delaying the inevitable also NLF
In terms of weaponry, sans the rare Promethean Equipment which are pitiful compared to even Doomslayer's Ballista, Chief may technically have used more weapons and in the scenario where he used them all he would "have more weapons," but most of them are simply mods Doomslayer already has that are also more powerful. Chief also would run out of his ammo quicker. Doomslayer basically has infinite ammo as it's pretty much canon he manipulates the battlefield to spawn fodder to chainsaw and ammo and health to pick up.

Well she is different from her canon counterpart, like her backstory is changed to a degree and joined the military too, compared to her game counterpart being a girl bent on revenge to her father killing her mother for demon power and gaining Sparda sword for more

Makes it worse when they self-deprecate American values and the USA in general to be "bad" in a token and shallow attempt to be morally grey.
Honestly now that I have had time to process what I've watched it's low-key foul parodying illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Latin America as literal demons in the most unstuble finger wagging way possible because "illegal aliens" wasn't bad enough already and yes the showrunners have confirmed the real world inspirations too. (Also media across world regularly pushing demons to be sympathetic while villanizing religious folks is unironically proving "the end times" beliefs true lol!).

Honestly this is the "try-hard" BS peeps in the 90s/00s rightfully made fun of yet somehow many American media writers keep forgetting that getting laughed at is not a compliment.

The battle of which dubious stuff do you buy?

Vs memes aside, what's funny is Battle Beast has an ongoing prequel comic run (highly doubt he'll get retroactive buffs due to it's seemly more grounded setting) while waiting years for Boros to do something again in the OPM manga/webcomic is actually realistic expectations (and it's likely he'll get buffs eventually, with a speculated Saiyan-like "what doesn't kill me makes me stronger" boost) yet both characters can't be considered static in their stats despite being canonically dead for years at this point in the source material (BB might get more impressive showings in the show which DB will certainly use since they'll composite both comics and animation while Boros is revealed to still be alive years after "dying" to Saitama and clearly there are plans for him in future...).

The endless debate of the Vs community is a battle neither Battle Beast nor Lord Boros would seek tbh.

Thank you for the clarifications, yes, I have read the reasoning for the speed rating, however, I was talking about when exactly is she being compared to Geralt ? IIRC, there is no cutscene in TW3 where Geralt & Ciri fight alongside each other, possibly only when they go and explore Avallach's laboratorium, and fight the entrance guardian, is that the feat putting her on Geralt's level, or is it a book thing ? Also, are all the profiles outdated and not credible ? I hope that with TW4 some updates for TW verse come along.
 
Galactus knight vs vergil blog got released and I had no idea. Opinions on it, also is the new dmc show any good? Might watch it after I get round to nocturne

I'm just gonna post what I said in the Netflix DMC discussion thread (no spoliers on the plot).

This is the whole adaptation vs source material debacle all over again where you need to be ignorant of the source material to truly enjoy an adaptation as it's own thing without the inherent bias of fan however you need to be familiar with the source material to understand as well as appreciate the references, Easter eggs and certain nuances that only fans will get thus causing a paradox on who this is suppose to appeal to (since you can't please everyone).

Ooooh, I get it now. The anti institutionalized religion sentiment as well.

I actually like the Castlevania series a lot, but after a while just couldn't see it as Castlevania, aside the basic conflict of Dracula and the origin of his revenge the series pretty much takes his own spin at everything. So it felt more like a dark fantasy show loosely based on the Castlevania series. I'm guessing it's a similar case here?

I mean, snarky characters can work well. The issue is when eveyrone's personality is "sarcastic", or you can't go a scene without a smart remark, or even dramatic and powerful scenes have someone trying to sneak a smart line or all interactions become what you'd see in a social media fight (which tends to happen a lot). Imo Hector did it well, being a cynical, down on luck member of a disgraced clan, so him putting up an insufferable front did fit his character, Alucard only trash talked back at Hector and it was mostly playful banter, and even Dracula got a couple of witty jokes here and there, but were well meaning jabs when talking with Isaac in a friendly conversation, so it worked to show a friendly side (helped by a little gesture, Dracula, this massive, towering, imposing vampire lord in elegant suit, suddenly casually sitting on the staris next to his friend). The Castlevania show knew when to drop it when it was called for.

EDIT: My bad, my bad. Meant to say Trevor. Hector actually is one of the few characters that's totally straightforward when speaking to others, ironically.

TBH, I'm not sure I agree with the infinite speed South Park justification. Feels like it's just a gameplay mechanic.
