Asura's only chance of winning is by giving Asura the Strength and Speed by a wide margin compared to Kratos. If he isn't he loses, Kratos has far more avenues to win than Asura has to Kratos.
I've said this before but there are three outcomes
Asura stomps Kratos
Kratos wins
Kratos stomps Asura

I mean, the big thing here is that Kratos needs to put Asura down fast if they're to be put at equals. Like, really fast. He will go from being stomped in his strongest form, to being the one who stomps in his weakest form.
