DEATH BATTLE! Discussion Thread (All-time Death Battle Spoilers Alert)

I apologize, but I think I should say you're forgetting something:

As I said earlier....

In episode 152, Jaden uses this card during his Duel against Jesse Anderson while the latter was possessed by Yubel.

Episode 152 is part of Season 3.
I know jayden can use it on his own? I'm not sure what you mean I missed

Edit: sorry I was responding to the spirit form duel thing

Does Jaden vs Makoto Yuki work as an MU? I don’t know anything about Yugioh it just weirdly vibes.

Tier: Low 2-C, higher with Willpower | 1-A, higher with Willpower | 1-A, higher with Willpower

Key: Mid-Game | Late-Game | Universe Arcana and Messiah

Tier: 10-B | 10-B, 2-C after merging with Yubel's soul

Just barely not, sadly. Shame, since Persona vs Yugioh is a fun concept.

Also, Personas have Cognitive Physiology, which is... fun.

If there's Soul Manipulation stuff (Duel Monster Spirits have dueled regularly & taken damage in Duels.), that MIGHT help, but IDK if it's stuff.

Being fused with Yubel, who has a plethora of powers could also help:

I mean connections wise, I know Makoto possibly(keyword possibly because we don’t know if DB buys 1-A Persona) stomps Jaden. I just think the MU could look cool

Makoto Yuki:
He is an orphan whose parents died on the Moonlight Bridge in their car during a fatal incident a decade before the events of the game. He has dark blue hair unkempt at the front, blue eyes, and a light build, being shorter than average. His bangs cover his right eye. He is often shown with his hands in his pockets. He is very stoic, reserved, and calm, gathered by the fact that he remains unmoved even when guns are pointed at him. He appears very introverted, distant, and aloof since he only observes the conversations of his party members and only speaks when someone is directed at him for his opinion on the matter.

Jaden:
He is headstrong, optimistic, fun loving, and a talented Duelist who loves Dueling as much as he cares for his friends.

He attended Duel Academy and was put in the Slifer Red Dorm, the dorm with the least privileges, due to his poor grades in the entrance exam. As time goes on, he becomes the academy's best Duelist and saves the world and the academy from many threats such as the evil Kagemaru, The Light of Destruction possessed Sartorius, the deranged and manipulative Yubel, and finally the malicious spirit Nightshroud. After three years, he graduates from Duel Academy and pursues his own journey to improve himself.

Personality-wise, they seem like total opposite. Makoto is a smart introvert, Jaden is a prodigious & skilled, book dumb introvert.

I guess they have the commonality of being able to see spirits & using monsters?

In his past, Yubel, then his favorite card, was... overprotective, & often engineered the deaths of his opponents after duels, as well as anyone who'd dare make him sad. The 1st time this happened, it was to a good friend, & Jaden went into a coma. No one would duel him, but he cherished his favorite card too much to throw it away.
Jaden later won a KaibaCorp card design contest... & got to have his 2 cards (& by his request, Yubel.) sent into space. KC wanted to expose them to "space waves". Yubel was exposed to the Light of Destruction, & sent pleas for help, which he received as nightmares, depriving him of sleep from terror. Young Jaden was soon treated for this by a medical procedure that blocked the visions & made him lose memory of this history.

In Season 2, after a loss to Aster, Jaden loses the ability to see his cards, gets on a boat... & ends up sent a place called Dolphina in Neo Space (A Duel Monsters Spirit World.) that is also apparently an uncharted planet near Jupiter. A talking, anthropomorphic dolphin card spirit pep talks him, & an evil alien robot serving evil alien light tries to kill them both, then Jaden can see his cards again, & also he has the Neo-Spacian Archetype now. (Plus Neos, his new ace.)

He later beats a mind controlling apocalypse cult who's boss uses a Tarot-themed deck.

A major character point for Jaden is in Season 3, where a rescue attempt into an Alternate Dimension (Which is a whole arc.) prolongedly makes little progress on finding Jesse, Jaden's new best friend (Same personality, & they could perceive each other's Duel Monster Spirits.), while his other friends were in danger.
He couldn't enjoy dueling because all his friends were dying & multiple universes' fates were at stake & doubts how he's been living is right. He develops The Supreme King alter ego or it brainwashes him (I'm unclear on that.) & becomes the evil overlord. Slaughter, hunting people down, etc.

Season 4 wasn't localized, & involves soul searching, & a villain of darkness named Trueman, IIRC.

At the end, Jaden duels Yugi. We see most of it, but the ending is left unshown; We cut from an inconclusive moment to Jaden in the desert, who's resolved to continue his journey.

IDK Makoto Yuki that well, so I'm unsure how (dis)similar he & Jaden's experiences are.

Basic idea I had for a connection between the two is their last name and they have a dark force sealed inside them

Sort of works. Jaden did temporarily have that The Supreme King possession/reincarnation/alter ego thing. (Not quite sure how it worked.) & he also has The Gentle Darkness.
I'd wanna see it.

I have finished Metaphor and it is funny

That is uses SMT element system and even has major story element of weapon bypassing powerful magic and they classify that as Almighty element. Funny timing after JokerGiorno lol

Im going to try to predict Kyle vs Simon

7D Kyle vs 11D Simon
They finna pull in Infinite dimensional DC. Like they placed Transformers cosmology at 17-D and had Marvel's cosmology as much higher, and DB consistently ranks both DC and Marvel as comparable in cosmology.

It doesn't help that they'll more than likely give Kyle the Life Equation.

Theyll put Kyle & Simon at vaguely similar stats, blackbox DC has better arguments, Simon kinda counters time travel but otherwise gets dumped on by hax. Unless Kyle has a major weakness, its over.

I feel it's gonna be the opposite tbh. They'll likely put them at similar levels in terms of hax but argue Kyle wins because larger cosmology. The analysis is probably gonna end up similar to Galactus vs Unicron.

Didn't they recently put superman at 7D via that research blog?

Sure oh my cosmology will happen, but its a Lantern in DB, they will allow him to get basically any reality warping power. Iirc it was mentioned by DB research team that Kyle was under-researched which immediately highlights he will get everything because Lanterns just will it.

I think it was 6-D, but iirc, I think that one was simplified to make it more digestible? Doesn't help that there are arguments for DC having even higher dimensions, on top of stuff like Sphere of the Gods level scaling, which is above the multiverse entirely.
