DB verdicts based on which character is more popular, Season 8:

Yoda vs King Mickey: Yoda (Mickey himself is more well-known, but not the Kingdom Hearts incarnation)
Shadow vs Ryuko: Shadow (Do I even need to explain this one)
Lex Luthor vs Dr Doom: Lex Luthor (Being Superman's most iconic villain gives you quite a bit of star power)
Heihachi vs Geese: Heihachi (I believe Tekken holds more relevance than KoF these days. Could be wrong.)
Blake vs Mikasa: Mikasa (LMAO)
Iron Fist vs Po: Po (Iron Fist is a C-tier character in Marvel in terms of popularity, and Po is the protagonist of a trilogy of beloved children's movies.)
Steven vs Star: Steven (Steven Universe is the poster child of LGBT in cartoons, this one's a no-brainer.)
Link vs Cloud: Link (This one was actually pretty hard. I think it still goes to Link though.)
Batman vs Iron Man: Batman (Hot damn, this one's probably the closest in this list.)
Goku Black vs Reverse Flash: Reverse Flash (As popular as Dragon Ball is, I doubt Goku Black himself is anywhere near that popular. Plus, Reverse Flash has had several decades to make his mark. GB's existed for like, seven years.)
Macho Man vs KAM: Kool-Aid Man (Honestly, I'm just guessing with this one.)
DIO vs Alucard: DIO (Yeah, I don't think this one needs explanation either.)
Akuma vs Shao Khan: Akuma (Definitely close, but I feel Akuma is just that little bit more popular)
Korra vs Storm: Storm (Probably?)
Madara vs Aizen: Madara (Naruto actually got to finish their anime, so there's that.)
Saitama vs Popeye: Saitama (This would have been way easier pre 2000s)
King of fighters has more relevance compared to the past, they handed their characters in crossovers with other franchises, their mobile game has crossovers with many franchises to this day

Although Tekken gained far more popularity, the netflix anime boosted that too

Akuma isnt more known then Shao Kahn, mortal kombat is more known of the two and Shao Kahn is a final boss more known then others

Popeye i feel is more known then Saitama if you ask people, who doesnt know Popeye honestly

Upon further research, yeah, I think Shao Khan takes popularity. Could have sworn SF had more star power these days, but I guess I was wrong.

I think yeah, I probably have to give it to Popeye. As infamous as Saitama is, I'm pretty sure way more people would atleast vaguely know Popeye. One webcomic/manga/anime can't really compete with decades of hundreds of different appearances in media.

The 2nd option of them not buying Multi Silver and Silver getting baseline to slightly above baseline uni stats and getting mogged. It took them literally like a decade to even rate Sonic characters as Solar System to Uni, they probably wont buy Multi at all.

Unfortunately.
Outside of textbox, Sonic Characters are only Large Planet in their Super Forms (According to Shadow vs Ryūko)

If street fighter 6 does things right and its a massive success it can become more popular, but back then there wasnt anything of such

Anime/manga can become more popular if it becomes more accesable in other places

Heck my cinemas from here started to put anime movies now too, which wasnt a thing before and some places had anime characters shown for publicity for their respective hiring jobs

Also streaming sites many use like Netflix also adds up too

Imma be real i the crew need a proper 3D team next season

while the jury isn't out yet on the Blender Team upcoming episode i feel the idea of having them do all the 3D fights ain't really helping
Yeah, definitely. Especially since the Blender team has shown they consistently struggle with hand to hand combat, and forcing that team to handle EVERY 3D animation will just lead to them getting overworked and lower quality fights.

yeah when future fights involve characters like Asura,Liu Kang etc that relys on HTH they can't be there to do all the work

idk what RT be doing but they can't be relying on the Blender to do all the work which may force The Sprite Team to hard carry

Me when i see the blender team on LiuJago
no-just-no.gif

i'm speaking into the void here but I want Liu Kang vs Jago to rival Ryu vs Jin in quality

Have Torrian on it let that be his final ride off to the sunset
idc
I would love for another fight to rival Ryu vs Jin in quality, that's still my favorite animation in DB period, but it's not happening. Torrian is done done with DB, RyuJin basically WAS his ride into the sunset, while he just gave minor assistance after that.

You thought that guitar is for I-No? But it was I, Bond! James Bond!

Would you actually want Therewolf Media be in the production of a battle music with I-No?

You know what? I-No actually has a lot of potential to be in a Death Battle, but who else (except Homura Akemi) can actually give I-No a real test?

he kept the form at the end of Aftermath
so 100%
So suddenly Liu Kang actually wins against Jago?
(And people need to talk about the KI moon feat by then...)

for some reason, I think Whitebeard vs Escanor is next....I don't have any hints to go by, but I just have this feeling.

I do think the next MU will be a unannounced fight tho
I believe... This will be season 10 material. Or S 9 penultimate finale episode.

By when? I remember when the crew discussed Sabrewulf vs Jon Talbain they briefly talked that Jago is possibly star level for defeating Gargos who is bragged by "mimic Glacius" to be star busting. So they stick with that by now? Your source? Thanks.

Multi-continent Gargos and by extent High 6-A Jago seems fair though.
the folks who are in the servers saw them debate over it and they sided with Jago

I mean wouldn’t Lou just have to start the fight as his god form? It’s not like a transformation he has it’s just how he is now.
Plus theoretically he can use the hourglass to rewind time or travel to a point in time when Jago is weaker than him, also not sure if Jago resists transmutation as Liu can also do that to him as well. (He can also be argued to be universal via elder god scaling, something they toyed with in Shao kahn vs Akuma outside of the multi-planetary stuff)

for the animation's sake they'll have him turn into midway

doubt they buy Uni for Liu
