why does caine have mage hax? Vampires can`t have them, tremere lost his power on becoming a vampire
Other vampires, yeah, but Caine isn't just any Vampire, he's THE Vampire, the only First Generation Vampire, in Revelations of the Dark Mother, Lilith gave Caine a portion of her powers and awakened him.

Lilith is the Greatest Mage to ever exist, and in some books is said to have made the Spheres themselves.

Caine therefore, would after awakening, would have Mage powers;

It's also expanded upon by saying that Caine can just create any powers he wants and can create entire Disciplines at a whim.

Tremere also lost his avatar because he became a Vampire of infinitely weaker power than Caine, he became a 4th-5th Generation Vampire before he diablorized Saulot, where he became a 3rd generation.

It's implied that 2nd Generation Vampires can also be Mages, as the Crone, a unimaginably powerful Witch retained her Mage powers after being embraced by Caine.

there is still blood magic, thaumathurgy which while weaker than true magic doesn`t suffer from paradox. Its part of the reason why the tremere survied the massasa war

Can modern vampires be mages?
Nope.

Very specifically no.

In a rare instance by Whitewolf, they are EXTREMELY specific on not allowing Mages to be Vampires.

In the story, when a Mage becomes a Vampire through ANY means, including ritualistic magic that Tremere did, you Avatar is DESTROYED, you lose all your Awakened Powers and even Enlightenment.

Even being Ghouled by a Vampire isn't good for a Mage and it will gradually weaken them.

btw does nergal have smurf hax? I ask if he could be in the non smurf thread
Yeah, he can summon Demons from Hell which would be likely 1-A.

He can also summon the thing that is "Massive and beyond reality in every way imaginable"

Which is likely High 1-A.

Not sure if they could though, since in one he needs prep and in the other, he dies for good.

New H:TP audiolog in 3-4 hours.

Yeah, it was very good.

I think Horse is a Demon or similar ancient entity.

Something FASCINATING

Is that he called boy an Oracle, and that has VERY specific meaning in WoD.

Oracles are the highest achievement for a Mage before Ascension, they have arcane knowledge beyond even the Archmages.

In fact, Archmages, while often will ask an Oracle for information on the Sphere, rarely understands any of it, despite their cosmic understanding.

Also, to translate more specifically what Horse said;

"What do you see?

Do you see it, Oracle?

Gaze into me (or my eyes)

Your Father, laid bare

Broken on the rocks by your hand

The abbot, will know (No idea who the abbot is yet)

Of two, one falls, one rises (I believe this either refers to Marckus and Kitten or to Boy and Door)

Damnation!

The third eye opens! (Awakening!)

His fat will feed her (no idea, possibly the Mysterious Monk or Carmilla)

The Abbot, will know!

The Patriarch (Caine or Big D), in Mastering Luna (A Celestine who IS the Moon. Celestine are the concepts they represent, meaning if Luna dies, the Moon would disappear) ends hamstrung

He will wish death upon his flesh (Again, could be Caine or Big D. Caine wants to kill off Kindred in one of the Scenarios of ToJ)

But no mercy shall be given,

For none he hath gave. (Hints more towards Caine, since D showed mercy to the Great and Mighty Kevin[!!!])

The rising three (No idea, maybe the Triat?)

Shall signal wars end (Again, no idea)

Woe and triumph

The Abbot, will know.

From them, Bloodshed, Armageddon for all (I think this could be the Triat)

Humans, Vampires, Werewolves, Changlings (Basically Fae), ELOHIM

In the light, they all will..."

also maybe a mention of the nagarajah in kitten backstory with the kindred eating the victim instead of draining of blood.
Yeah, possibly.

It is likely they were a Naga, but they could have been an Organ eater, which is a flaw vampires can have, since it makes feeding much more messy and way harder.

3rd eye may have also been refering saulot
It could be, but Saulot is very dead. He was diablorized by Tremere, I don't think it'd be any Salubri either.

In the story, there's not many left, like; Single digits. V5 says there's more now, but I think they're not using V5 lore.

But yeah, I don't think its Saulot or the Salubri, I think its referencing someone achieving awakening.

actually kitten may have encountered a fae instead. The guy died being impaled in iron, a nagrarah wouldn`t die to that. No to mention they primarily operate un england and the shadowlands

If a Vampire is inflicted with enough damage, they an be inflicted with final death.

As for the Fae, to my knowledge Fae don't disintegrate when they die.

Also, the Fae come from the Fae Wilds and the Seelie Courts (Or Unseelie courts) in the Astral Umbra

I don't really buy it. Besides what Uld said, there's also a chance that he got impaled in the heart, which can also cause final death.

Looks like we're getting a new show?

From the video's description:
New York by Night follows two coteries of vampires as they struggle to find their place amid the dark schemes of New York City’s undead underworld. Representing the Anarch story, season one focuses on a group of four young vampires who are fed up with living under the Camarilla’s strict rules.

The pilot will be out sometime at the end of June.

A ravnos that's interesting. Those are rare after the week of nightmares
Yeah, they got shafted probably the hardest of any clan in Modern era, comparable only to the original Cappadocians and Salubri.

I did read in Time of Judgement, the Week of Nightmares was entirely the fault of the Wyrm, as he told the Antediluvian Zapppppppyyyyyyyyyy to wake up so he could start to bring Armageddon.

I don't know how to feel about this.

I am very mixed on it;

1. Adult media seems to be incredibly insecure with itself and forces a lot of romance plots that don't actually go anywhere but in circles and throw in a lot of sex, where the writer is almost screaming at you from beyond the Screen; "SEE! THIS ISN'T YOUR AVERAGE KIDDY SHOW, THIS IS FOR ADULTS" not actually understanding sex is the biggest way to make something seem really juvenile.

2. They chose 2 of the hardest Vampires to visually depict out of pretty much all of them. Ravnos and Tzimisce are incredibly hard to visually depict because:

A. Ravnos' illusions are hellscapes of their own design, inflicting horrors on anyone subject to them, there's a reason why they were so feared.
B. Tzimisce constantly redesign themselves and have a warped sense of beauty, making themselves and their surroundings into grotesque body horror shows (See Vampire: the Masquerade: Bloodlines). There was a reason they went almost solely with the Sabbat and not the Camarilla.

This is a hard pitch, and I don't know how well it'll do because WoD as a whole is so intense in storytelling, you have to throw your lot behind that, failing to do so results is very poor games.

There's a reason why the World of Darkness game system is called "The Storyteller system"

I share the same thoughts. It doesn't help that World of Darkness is just full of edgy stuff, and that the majority of the people who play the tabletop RPGs are also hardcore edgelords as well. We'll have to wait and see what's it gonna be like since the pilot is dropping soon.

I'll see myself out

TBH, WoD was never really edgy (In the modern sense), it was just really progressive for the 80s and 90s and a lot of that progressivism led to a unique take on "Edginess", with Ecoterrorism and so on.

People saw the superficially dark elements that in their own games turned those upto 11 and kinda forgot what made them edgy in the first place. Now-a-days, the World has actually caught upto WoD's standards, edgy now-a-days is usually just posting **** on forums and screaming the n-word and then afterwards saying "It's all just edgy humour, you just don't get it" when no one laughs.

Oh wait!

Hang on! There's going to be a Storyteller.

I see!

Here's me thinking it was a Live Action TV show, but it's just the advert for Jason Carl's next campaign!

Sorry to interrupt your time, I want to ask if World Of Darkness has an online reading page? Because to buy the physical book is very difficult and the price is very expensive.

You can always ask questions, I'm never going to scorn people asking questions, unless they're really obvious.

WoD is a product, you can buy the PDFs on https://www.drivethrurpg.com

The more recent ones are a bit pricey, but the earlier ones are typically pretty damn cheap.

You can also always look online

Thanks for you're advice and last I want to ask, why don't you play the World Of Darkness lore game ?

Lore game?

Also, I'd probably be terrible at it, since they'd likely ask about characters like Horatio Ballard, Josepha de Espronceda and so on, who I don't know all that much about.

If I were to give myself WoD stats, it'd probably be something like this:

Cosmology: •••••
Esoterica: •••••
Politics: •
Research: ••••
Society: -•

Sorry to interrupt your time,Is it true that WOD's infinite above baseline is still just a fairy tale and has not been proven, because many are talking about the SCP Foundation's Infinite Above Baseline problem which is clearly displayed and will shift WOD from the first rank ?

So, basically;

The entire cosmology as we understand it is like... 3 layers into 0.

Then there's the Consensus hierarchy, which is an infinite hierarchy being described as "Turtles all the way down"

It contains the current cosmology and repeats an ever higher hierarchy of ever larger cosmologies.

There's also the expansion into the Supernal, a Realm beyond the Void where "No intellect or wisdom may penetrate" and it's were the Triat were made.

Does this mean that the hierarchy in Cosmology is real but still not 100% and still needs to be further stated ?
