Honestly, I'm struggling to see much out of this MU
besides the garbage Connections what's actually there

Animation Potential: oh come on! Seriously I'm confused how can you make this fight entertaining outside Civilian Casualties?
Homelander never been in a real fight,He just lasers his opponent and the only time he fought someone comparable to him he got maimed off-paneled how ya gonna make him vs Omni-Man good when the most of the fight gonna be Nolan jobbing until the last second he stops playing around and gives him the Viltrumite hand shake or The whole thing is Nolan just no-selling and taking Homelander apart for 3 minutes which might be the only thing salvaging it

Banter: this is what folks praise about this and I'm like are you serious? Nolan hardly Banters he's mostly kills you and goes about his day he's not some MCU Quip king or some shit like that the best i could Nolan mocking how weak Homelander is for the Think Meme and Tv Homelander at best could shit talk in being like how great he is and mock Nolan mustache or something but frankly not something to brag about it

Debate:don't need to tell ya just how bad this one is just a slaughter to the point of no return, you don't need to even mentioned the comics and it's still a massacre

Highballing Memelander gets you Town and Hypersonic at best while Tv Nolan is City+ and Relativistic and thats just going S1 and lowballing TV Nolan

It better be ******* good, if they’re going to pander this hard I want to see some top quality shit

Unrelated but is YT playing up for anyone else? It was working up until an hour ago for me, and then suddenly I get hit with the dreaded 'cipher mismatch' that refuses to ******* leave

Alrighty just watched Thorgeta, time to give my full (fresh in mind) opinions and takes:

*As most predicted as well as kind of accepted Thor won the DB (the fake out was pretty sweet tho), I was a little disappointed not to see a multiverse shaking beam struggle between the God blast and Final Flash but again the fake out at the end with a bloodied battle damaged Thor was entertaining to see.

*The track has grown on me after hearing it with the animation itself and it kinda does do a good job of showing off that two godly yet battle crazed deities are clashing with each other.

*The 2D sprite animations was a treat on the eyes with the clever usage of particle effects tho I do wish there was less close ups on the sprites imo (Also it's a good thing that awkward axe sprite got hakai'ed).

*The research seemed to be on point with DBs usual volume AP scaling, perhaps Thorgeta will be the final nail in the coffin of "Thor = slow" preconception among the normies? What I personally found intresting is despite Thor speed blitzing, in terms of P&A most of the stuff given to the Thunderer was done by regular Thor with the Odinforce not playing too much of a deciding factor outside giving Thor the AP advantage if you wanted to highball both Thor and Vegeta, the sheer hax of the Odinforce wasn't even brought up iirc meanwhile I can see some people getting angry that current Vegeta doesn't get full scaling to Broly but at this point scaling in the DBS manga is all over the place with characters that can simply "wish" to be powerful with minimal drawbacks, add in the fact Beerus is still way above Vegeta and it kinda handicaps Vegeta from getting high end scaling (not that it matters with the 2-A God Blast).

*Lastly I thoroughly enjoyed the voice acting, great use of the well-known quotes for both characters and ofc the banter was pretty on point (mostly).

*Also apparently Boomstick is indeed worthy lol!

The fight is a solid 9/10, easily the most enjoyable DB this season for me in terms of overall presentation in the actual episode.

As for next time I can't wait to see a sociopathic man child get his comeuppance but the MU is indeed filler trash. Walmart Superman Vs A guy who could give casual Superman a good fight.

Brightburn/Tighten/Hancock Vs Homelander and Bardock Vs Omni-Man was simply not to be this season.... :/

Hey, I got a little question about I sorta have after Thorgeta, do you think they’d give Gogeta or Vegito spirit fission? If so that might change how some MUs might go for both depending on how DB interprets their opponents, due to most of them being fusions.

I was suprised that Thor won. But when we got to nuts and bolts, it was obivous. The next battle is about characters i know nothing about, so i cannot say anything about it.

Well, a hypothetical modern vegito/gogeta could def do it. so that could be a good wincon

I thought they disliked Omni-Man vs Homelander? Did they change their mind?
probably a higher-up pushed for it.
Maybe but it was definitely a Suit that told them they want this done
Pretty much all of ^this tbh. Either to appeal to the lowest common denominator or perhaps even another sponsorship deal.
They said themselves it was too clear cut
Oh... the irony.

isn't bardock still featless and his story is changing? plus he's still just another DB character that kicks and punches and has ki attacks, adding nothing to the fight

having said that, yes I still would have preferred that over HL, but once again, OmniLander is a highly requested fight. You can't blame them for choosing this.

I kinda wonder who it would work on, like I know it wouldn’t work on Doctor Fate, but someone like Pneuma or Omnimon it could be something to factor? Depending on how they estimate those twos base forms

I'm sorry but saying that while Nolan is fighting a brick who can only shoot lasers and have zero fighting skills is dumb
And Bardock has his OG Ova,a fight in the manga and the episode Bardock shit

Barely NO-ONE is talking about "canon/retcon" Bardock when it comes to that MU, it's Toei Bardock most want to see fight Nolan. All the stuff done by canon Bardock can be used as side reference (Just like how DB used Toei Broly as reference in Broly Vs Hulk despite it being DBS Broly).

Also I highly agree with everything @Tipper17 just said.

It wouldn’t work on either. Pneuma is the original being while Pythra are just personalities. And Omnimon just resists due to being able to shrug off having his data tampered with. Both of those matches go the same way either way though. Gogeta bodies Pneuma and gets wrecked by Omnimon. Fission changes nothing for that.

Ah okay

I mean…Toei Bardock is also a flying brick that brings nothing to the table, as his precog is entirely non-combat applicable. As I said before, Homelander at least brings on a new series, while Bardock has nothing to separate him from even Yamcha. Not saying Omnilander is a goated match, as it’s obvious, but Omnidock ain’t much better. The only thing the latter has over the former is it’s closer.

The boys were already introduce in S7 (Bonus episode but who cares) and Bardock vs Omni-Man would also do the same thing as it brings another new character on the show
And also again this "Bardock brings nothing to the table" is stupid Bardock and Omni-Man can have actually good choegraphy between warrior races and somewhat high scale destruction

Meanwhile tell me what can you actually do with Homelander in choegraphy?

He never had an actual fight and his only real one was off paneled and got rekt
