They ain’t afterimages. It is NIGHT TIME for the characters right now. We, as readers, just get special vision to see everything clearly because that’d suck for Murata to shade every single page for dozens of chapters. It’d also make it hard as hell to read.

The “””afterimages””” page is a bit weird. The angle is strange. But to me it looks like they’re reacting to the flashes of light on the dark water from Garou and Saitama’s clashes in the stratosphere. They’re not afterimages, it’s just dark.

you basically answered ur own question. due to saitama having a blank face, we know he holds garou to no standard. the webcomic and manga are completely different mangas at this point, the order might be flipped around.

Because shading takes time, is hard and expensive.
It is night time. It is dark when it is night. Proving they’re afterimages takes a lot more proof than simply saying it is dark, since it is night time. Occam’s Razor.

If that were true boros would be comparable to Saitama. If Saitama had any killing intent with his attacks he wouldve killed Boros with a simple punch just as he would against Garou

Boros is a threat that wouldn't hold back when killing an innocent, so when landing a hit, Saitama wouldn't care if he died or survived the punch, in Garou's case it's more him holding back so he doesn't cause any lethal damage to a teenage cosplayer that not even killed a human.

Actually on that note, Saitama very easily broke Garou's arm. The only real damage Garou took was non lethal forsure.
