Hey.

Heyo, weird to post it here, but I couldn't find your original comment. I recall you mentioned in the Pokemon thread that you were somewhat confused as to why Kieran in Pokemon Scarlet/Violet turned out to be the kind of guy he was. At the moment I didn't have the DLC so I didn't even know who Kieran was, but recently I went through the two DLC episodes and saw it for myself. Honestly, yeah, he's kind of a self-centered ass, but... huh... I liked that? How to put it?
I guess what I liked is that, they never played the sobstory card, they could have easily brought up some exposition that Kieran was bullied in school, that his parents are dead or somethig like that for quick sympathy, but they didn't, they just let the events talk for themselves and show a screw up of a kid. Helps that the story shows you what led to his change, but doesn't excuse it or try to hard to make it sympathetic or tragic (the usual is to just ramp up the tragedy or show a despicable villain was behind everything, nothing of that here, Kieran had to own up to his mistakes), it's shown that while the events affected Kieran, his own issues also contributed a lot. My only gripe is that the issue was solved in your typical "epiphany" fashion: character gets a realization and the problem is over, when it would have been interesting to at least have a talk regarding his issues.

And to be honest, Kieran's frustration with the Player Character does hold some water, as Pokémon games have kept going the pandering to the player from the game is more and more blatant and the game goes out of its way to make you the most special cookie in the universe, every success falls on your lap and everyone will go out of their way to tell you how much better than everything you are. I know that being able to do everything is part of the gameplay experience and choices, but the game can be a bit patronizing regarding it. Honestly, Kieran's drama almost comes as self-awareness from the game itself.

At the risk of of being repetitive, I can get why Kieran comes as unlikeable, but I think it's because we are too used at characters having nominal or romanticized flaws instead of genuine unlikeable traits and for the story to give us excuses that justifies their actions, be it tragedy, well meaning but misaimed actions, a true hidden villiain or if a character is a genuine screw up it's because they went through a outrageous amount of trauma that would send to a madhouse a person in real life. The game itself introduced Arven as a jerk, but shortly after gave us that he was taking care of a sick puppy, Team Star is shown as a bunch of delinquents, but then it goes out of their way to emphazise how everything was the fault of their bullies and they were just victims. So Kieran, having legitimate unlikable traits, not having a tragic and sympathetic backstory, not going through a conga of suffering and simply having more grounded issues came as... odd.

In part yes, but also how tried a different... um... "less safe" writting with him. Kinda reminds me of Luke fon Fabre, the MC of Tales of the Abyss, who is written as immature, selfish, abrassive and ignorant, and making horrible decisions with dire consequences, while the game is about him owning up to his mistakes, learning and growing up. Predictably he's one of the more divisive characters of his franchise, some think he's just too unlikable to work, others (myself included) think that writting him as so flawed and unlikeable is precisely what makes his development out of it so good.

But I can see why some people aren't willing to put up with a truly unpleasant character, sometimes you just want a good time and the last thing you need is someone to spoil that.

I thought the DLCs were pretty good. I was taken aback a bit by Terapagos though. While it finally gave some answers to some of the bigger questions of the SV lore, I felt some were still unexplored. Paradox Pokémon being from alternate timelines instead of the far past or future was strange though.

Yeah, I don't think I was very satisfied. The answer to the mystery of the Paradox Pokemon felt vague & barely presented.

Plus, what about the symbols on the tablets & stuff?

Ah, yeah, that as well. Had forgotten about it. To be honest, Terapagos should have been its own DLC chapter rather than the final leg of the Blueberry Academy one. I'm getting Zygarde vibes here, who also got shafted in terms of his story in the games (at least until Legends ZA comes) but had the anime pick things up. In general, the whole deal with Paradox Pokemon and Terastalization wasn't tackled until very late, even in the main game. Come to think of it, the only regional mechanic that got truly explored was Dynamax in Gen VIII IIRC? Mega Evolution never got much lore behind it in Gen VI and Z-Crystals were only explained to come from Necrozma in an optional dialogue scene in Ultra Sun/Moon in the post-game if you visit Kukui.

Was wondering if you could take a look at this SAO matchup thanks
Hello, considering you're knowledgeable in characters that are simply bound to a video game and that they're just made out of data. Would they necessarily need Data Manipulation for that sort?

They typically wouldn't get data manip just by being made of data, but if they can alter the data/world around them at all, then they would.
don’t bother arguing against negative theology here. i’ve already proved that it didn’t exist in the age of gods, and that understanding of it was only lost to beings post AOG. whatever statements or counter arguments they could bring up are invalid by virtue of being post AOG statements
I forgot about Demon Tristan.

It surpasses enchanter initially, and is more like >5x enchanter (206 teratons) during his second, more berserk transformation.
I know you're no longer involved with NNT, but could you explain the logic behind it?

Edit: Another thing I wanted to ask, Demon Mark Meliodas in 4KoA is Small Planet, right? Since Demon Tristan in this new scale would be 94.5 Exatons (Using the old scaler as a base)

Meliodas' scale in 4KoA would look like this, right?

Base Meliodas 189 Exatons

Demon Mark Meliodas 756 Exatons

Can't remember for the life of me, sorry.

I can remember the logic behind it now.

Percival equalled base Tristan (they knocked each other out), and then surpassed him with another amp, yet still got stomped by the Melascula Galand fusion and could only inflict moderate damage with a Destroyer amp (a nearly 10-fold amp).

Berserk Demon Mark Tristan, on the other hand, ripped apart the fusion with utter ease, placing him well above Destroyer-amped Pervical. IIRC, it's explicitly stated in the commentaries on the side of the untranslated panel that this version of Tristan was more powerful than his previous controlled Demon transformation.

Base Meliodas is 2x Berserk Demon Tristan via scaling above Arthur's FC'd attack, and 2nd Mark Meliodas is 4x stronger than his base (aka, 8x Tristan).

Honestly, I'm not sure how all of this factors into anything if the scaling comes from Behemoth, who's close to 50% Demon King level.

We kept the scaling in the last thread for downscaling purposes and nothing more.

I’m quite sure, the site itself (you can check the actual page if you didn’t happen to click on it) lists those masses were regarding passenger trains (that train is a sleeper tourist train as it has bedrooms and dining carriages, which are on the heavier end). I’m not the most sure on their actual reliability standalone, but their numbers are consistent.

The Amfleet train cars are in a very close range to what I used 48000 to 51000kg. Which are just standard passenger trains rather than tourist transit.

Since this is Japan, the closest comparison would be to the Train suite Shikishima a luxury tourist train in Japan (this train is a tourist train), you can see their train carriage weights in tons vary from 44 to 69 Metric tons overall which would get you 56 Metric tons on average. Only a 1000kg upgrade from what I’m currently using (You can see the weights under the “train formation” section)

Sorry for the explanation being so long.

You should add stuff like that to the actual blog, instead of expecting everyone to understand with a link to a single website.

Last question, since the weight is fine.

Did she perform this feat with her physical strength or wind powers? It's hard to tell from the panels but it doesn't look like she physically grabbed and threw it.

I also find it suspect considering she made contact with the front part of the train but it was the other train car that was sent flying up.

I have issues with our current electricity/lightning standards, I'm not comfortable with evaluating this.
Hey Bambu, would moving in a dream where time never passes qualify for Infinite Speed? Also to travel dreams you need to time travel..

Timeless realms don't give Infinite Speed anymore, no.

How can you qualify for Infinite Speed when moving in 0 time then?

1. Moving like that in a realm with time.
2. Moving infinite distance.

I know you like Dino crisis so I made this

Mate... don't you think that's a ton of vs matches? Maybe you should focus on the ones you already made before making others. That's how I see it...

Well I made 10 so I’m waiting for the ten to be done before moving on

Why 10? Well because I have 20 matches for the hunter completed.

Once this 10 is done

I’ll cut it to 5.

Well it’s cause I hope to make the hunter the profile with the most matches added. And make him a big name on the forum.

(He’ll surpass sans as the one with the most matches, sans has 35 btw)
Hello! Could you check this calculation when you have time please?
I'm aware you don't know DS, but I guess the calc has enough context to allow for a revision.
Of course I still understand if you don't want to evaluate it (I'm begging tho 🙏).
