Pretty badass rendition of siegfried and fafnir from the new 348601861447613f0f2fc29b67182e31
Current Standings (A "-1" indicates a fighter was disqualified for whatever reasons)

Twenty-eighth round of the 7-A brackets begins! Winner of the last round was Lucario. The semifinals are only one rounds away!

The combatants for this round are Ren Tao, submitted by FateAlbane, and Nonon Jakuzure, submitted by JackytheJack.

O.S. Super Bushin Ren and Regalia Finale are used. Speed is equalized, battle takes place in the Roman Colosseum, 20 meters apart.

Ren Tao - 7 (Fate, Overlord, John, Cal, Bambu, Dragon, Iapitus)

Nonon Jakuzure - 3 (Weekly, Monarch, Jack)

Incon -

Nonon smirk
Ren Tao

Given his set of abilities I don't see why he has extended melee range on any of his keys, but I'll wait for Fate to comment.

also he has true flight

And I just noticed Fate's comment on the previous thread, going to ask everyone to be patient and wait for Fate to comment before voting.

Nonon spams her danmaku spams untill Ren is dead.

He can't do much aginast hit since Nonon uses weapons, so Fumon Tonkou is nigh useless.

so i vote Nonon

Pretty sure that her weapons are imbued with life fibers, AKA living things he could view and predict the movements of.

Also he has psuedo-flight himself, and his attacks all abuse intangibility powers to bypass any of her defenses.

.

False Beserker has fallen. Time to see how this plays out.

Yeeeah I dunno what stops the danmaku from happening. Even with true flight she can likely just, uh...punt him away with sound if he gets any close. She's done that to ryukuo before so...

Here I am.

1. That Range is elusive, since as I've shown in past threads he can AOE giant peops.

2. Nonon is severely outskilled. Over 500+ years of fighting experience from a guy who also has a feat of defeating another channeling around 2000+ years of fighting experience of multiple souls at once , case in point being E.

3. That's without mentioning Fumon Tonkou, which can read what Nonon is about to do directly via reading/feeling the pulses of her energy, unless she lacked a soul/spirit/energy or something.

4. She loses in stamina as well. This is the guy who in a key with far less spiritual power (300ish to the 55000 here) fought an army of undead , got beaten up by his dad , was kept in priso in poor conditions and tortured for 10 days along with his sister who is basically fodder to him in this key but endured being locked and tortured for 20 days as well , got up and immediately went to fight said dad agai and immediately fodderized the Jiang Si who had tortured his sister along with Yoh in a single blow, as if he was in top conditio (note that undeads of similar level had been stalling other party members for a while before this), got beaten up for a bit by Shao Wen (the strongest undead around at the time), got up again, went on to finally fight against his father in an even harder match due to his regenerative Oversoul that involved his entire body like a giant and defeated him by the end of the day without stopping for a minute to rest. Note that Yoh and co. helped Ren in the first phase of the fight , but Ren was the one who single-handedly defeated his father once he activated the Daidouhou and the Daidouryu which was his strongest Oversoul and Ren mocked it then proceeded to defeat it . Ren's father that is also far weaker than the Ren in this current key (since he got fodderized by Mikihisa) kept his Oversoul going for literal years.

5. Flight is not too much of a problem since Ren can levitate, propel himself in the air like a rocket by using his Oversoul with no waste of energy freely fight while riding it , or ride it around the air even if it's not as totally freely as with the Spirit of Thunder . He can also predict her moves to better react and approach. Later in the series and in the key here the boy freely maneuvered in the air around and avoiding energy beams somehow without even needing to summon a body for his oversoul per se.

6. Her uniform doesn't have non-physical interaction as far as I'm aware so she can't count on blocking or intercepting his attacks with its defenses. If Ren uses a Togenkyo it will phase straight through and hit Nonon directly. Actually, literally *any* of his attacks will phase straight through her defenses and hit directly unless she had Non-Corporeal interaction.

7. Taking into account that he outskills severely without even counting Fumon Tonkou, had the stamina to stay fighting for extremely long even in an extremely beaten up and outright post severe torture condition in a key with a measly 300ish Spiritual power as compared to his 55000 that he has on this one, and that he can pursue enemies in the air by using his own Oversoul as a rocket or something to ride in, it feels to me like Nonon is the one who gets hard countered here as opposed to her previous matches which means he definitely is getting all the hits he needs before he goes down himself.

8. Togenkyo will absolutely wreck here since it can AOE giant peops and it will phase through the uniform and Nonon is definitelly not keeping distance from Ren for days on end given the skill gap + stamina gap + move reading factor + he isn't a stationary target in the ground without any proper means of air mobility like her prior enemies.

When I saw that this match would happen I considered that this was one of those matches where Nonon had bad compatibility with her opponent's overall moveset/skillist, yes.

Why isn't last key Nonon used in this match ?
I try to keep the AP values of the fighters as close as possible, and since I can't find out how far Ren is into 7-A I used Mk II to be safe.

S'pose that's a Ren FRA for me, Jacky doesn't seem to have much to say.

The easiest way to think of Ren's AP in this is "fodderizes Baselines by a wide margin" since as I said in a previous thread baselinish people are 2000 ~ 5000 spiritual power. And Ren has 55000 and has been shown to casually oneshot them without even paying attention/no fight happening whatsoever.

I say this because in SK unless your opponent has a mental breakdown or something, generally even small gaps in spiritual power are borderline insurmountable. In Yoh's first match (with Oversoul) against Ren the SP gap was 200ish to 300ish and Yoh managed a draw by the end of the day only because at that point in the series Ren wouldn't use his own experience (only saw spirits as tools), thus Ren was outskilled by Amidamaru predicting his moves AND suffered a mental breakdown so his OS became weaker/lost substance as a result and became susceptible to Yoh's attacks. And he needed all that to leap over a gap of about 100.

A gap of 55000 to 2000 ~ 5000 makes him be like Heaven to Earth compared to the baselinish characters.

I feel like changing it to Regalia Finale won't make a difference given that scaling, so I'll update the OP.

Shouldn't invalidate the votes as AP isn't the main points of any arguments I've seen.

Yeah, AP isn't generally a part of the arguments and there were much greater/evident gaps in past due to skills and other parameters speaking louder.

Nonon mainly loses here due to her awful compatibility with his moveset and Ren having proper counters to mostly all of her stuff.

I mean I don't have much to say generally because I don't know how Ren works with that AoE effect anyways? Besides it seems pretty clear cut and I doubt Nonon could push away all attacks like she's been doing

Ren - 7 (Fate, Overlord, John, Cal, Bambu, Dragon, Iapitus)

Nonon - 2 (Weekly, Monarch)

Grace has started.
