Why do people hate Mario?

Out of curiosity. Mario hasn't done anything wrong. Despite being the world's best gaming franchise why are some people hating on him?

I am very serious about this. I am not joking at all, I know some people reading this won't believe me when I say that Mario is my #1 favourite video gaming franchise.

I haven't come across many (any for that matter) that "hate" Mario.

Although I guess one would dislike Mario if they don't find his gameplay appealing.

Nintendo confirmed that Mario is no longer just a plumber.

Also I think that anyone who hates Mario needs to grow up.

Because people have to right to hate a character for various reasons. I don't like Mario, just because it's my opinion and I have the right to one. Just because, you like Mario doesn't mean other people can't dislike Mario. That's not how the world works. So saying we need to grow up because we dislike a character you like is even more childish.

I don't "Hate" Mario, but under no means do I like it. As a whole I was never a fan of the gameplay of any of the games, I absolutely despise 90% of the fan base, the people who say he's omnipotent etc.

About the fan base, saying "anyone who hates Mario needs to grow up" proves my point, perfectly.....
