There needs to be more games where you are or can be a scavenger, and the ones that currently exist need to be better games. It's so easy to make a game where you are a faceless, unimportant guy who willingly entered a wasteland to snatch all the artifacts and weapons in it for a good buck, while big name factions around you are participating in an all out war for reasons your average joe guy has no interest in besides profiting off it, and make said game good and interesting. Yet so many of the games based around this concept suck. Forever Winter was a flop, while Stalker (2007 game lmao) is still the pinnacle of this niche.

A game like that is really hard to make without getting too repetitive, especially if you are talking about a open world.
But I've already thought about how a game like this would be like tho, just imagining how a metroidvania would be if the player's only goal was to find the wonders of a unknown cave with some different civilizations within it, with you selling some stuff to other adventurers you meet during the journey. The game would end the moment that the player decide to leave the cave, which can be done any time.
But I have no ideia if such game would actually work lol.

What do you mean? It's gonna make sweet profits and join Morbius, Madame Web and the F4 reboot as one of the cinematic comic-book cult classics of biblical proportions, it might even surpass Halle Berry's Catwoman in terms of impact.
Seriously speaking though Joaquin Phoenix's talents getting wasted in both Napoleon and Joker 2, is pretty disappointing to see. Yet another reminder that it doesn't matter how talented, experienced, hardworking, etc the actors are for a movie or show, if the execution (among other factors) is lackluster, no different to wasting money on the best ingredients only to find out later you can't cook.
