That's why the strat is simple - run to the mountains, preferably cold ones, with as much provisions as you can. Hunt if possible, you should survive that way. Zombies, regardless of their stamina and immortality, are for the most part human corpses. Unless a zombie is dressed for winter they will most likely experience extensive damage to joints and skin which could render them immobile. Additionally they wouldn't be able to go on without food for too long and going up a mountain would require too much energy. You'd basically be in the perfect position, not to mention the direct access a rescue heli could have if you are on it.
 
i will never undestand zombie apocalypses,like,you're telling me that like,half a dozen of smart humans couldn't beat shambling corpses in a fight?

There are usually several hundreds of corpses, often capable of running, only die if you hit the most vital spots, have more stamina than you due to not needing to account for muscle pain during movement, will turn you into a zombie in one bite and more.

They always try that, but the truck needs gas, can get tires pierced and if there are obstacles like abandoned cars in the way then getting away will be a problem. There's also othe possibility of the zombie hordes following the direction of your truck or another zombie horde being somewhere near your stop without you knowing. Then there's the fact that, yet again, gas/gasloine. Stations have limited resources, mechanisms would eventually malfunction due to lack of maitenance. Sooner or later they'll become unusable.

Watchin' "Big O" rn and I think I might watch it fully. Good story, good designs, it's basically batman with mechs, has people in cool suits, mafia and jazz music - everything I wanted.
